So one day I took my car to amaco transmission to see if they could weld my mufflers on. He says yeah but the mechanic has to check it out to tell you how long it will take (I needed it done with in 1 hour and 30 and they didnt have pipes there). So they raised my car take a look and i see the mechanic with a puzzled face..I had the true dual RB headers on..Im thinking that hes thinking "why the hell only two pipes?"..then he pops open the hood to take a look...i laugh and take my car somewhere else...

yea meaning the stock wheels already had winter tires on....its not something you can argue when it can be taken as either way....

if he just wrote to begin with that he was having winter tires put on his stock rims this would not be an issue

it makes it sound like hes swaping his pretty rims with good tires with his stock rims with winter tires

get it?

Sorry, thought I was clear. I was takin off my 17s with my summer tires. And gave them my stock wheels with winter tires already on.... although I needed two new rear ones due to no tread. Didn't really wanna specify that whole part cause its kinda irrelevant. Didn't expect **** to come my way.... but I'll remember to be exactly precise to avoid douchebag **** talking, cause they have nothing better to do.

My bad

Hence why i was calling him out on calling some one a retard when his post made it look like he had to pay some one to take off some lugs and change his wheels.

This reminds me of a funny story about one of my friends. He's a bit of a redneck. One year, he got Diesel brand cologne for his birthday... and he was disappointed because it didn't actually smell like diesel fuel!

It's not really something said, but a friend and I were on a drive and he was behind me, said that everyone we passed looked at my car first like "Wtf is that" and then he drove by and it was even worse... haha

A lot of people on 205 yesterday hadn't seen many RX-7's before. :p

I had something great happen to me the other day

i have a friend who's really into V8s, and claims that they would cream any rx7.

we were at a taco bell waiting outside for somebody, when a silver rx7 (who i think was V8killa which makes like 600rwhp or somethin) pulled into the gas station across the street. It had a real lopey idle and everything. My friend was soooooo convinced it was gunna be slow. So as he was driving by us, i went to the side of the road and signaled with my hands to peel out, and instantly a gigantic cloud of smoke went up into the air, and he flew past us, as he sat on his rev limiter.

my friend hasn't dissed rotarys since

The guys at autozone are like this to me too. A few of them that work there will actually call me and let me know when new plugs/starters/other random accessories for my FC come in. I actually find it kind of funny.

me: no.
guy1: not yet?

Same here. It's nice that the guys at my local PepAdvanceZone stores at least know the rotary engine exists. They're hardly experts, but they're always interested in being schooled on them. I guess FCs were really popular at one time in my area, and now they've all disappeared.

Also, since I've bought my FC, I've gotten at least three offers from interested buyers, even with the interior theft damage and less-than-mint paint. One guy wanted $1500, one wanted $1800, and one wanted $2000. I'm not ready to sell it yet, but it's good to know I can turn my FC around for more than I bought it ($1300) when that time comes.

Only if you didn't do your homework before you bought it and you don't keep up with regular maintenence. Most of the time I hear **** like this, the person either never owned a rotary-powered car in the first place or they treated it like a beater and never maintained it. It's a sports car, not a Civic.

Rotaries are fine exactly as ArtOfRuin said, if you maintain it, do most of the work yourself or friends who know what they are doing, you'll be fine.

If you get one that's been treated like ****, it will run like ****. Mine is one of these latter ones, and I'm working on fixing it up. It's work, I had to replace a lot of the interior dash components, I got dents and dings all over, and my engine is needing a rebuild soon.

It all depends on the previous owners, if your lucky you found a good one. If not, expect it to be a long extensive overhaul, but is totally worth it in the end, in my opinion anyway.

When my and my woman were cruising around in her MX-6 everyone said it had a rotary in it

Now we cruise an RX-7 and everyone says it's a V6?

No one here listens when schooling is being given out.

the life expectancy of a rotary engine is timed by the care of it and the type of driver.

as stated above, its not a honduh...you actually have to do oil changes, and check all components for irregularities, you usually have to let it warm up..and excessive beating on the engine will shorten its life

lets take mine for an example, 87 n/a 194k miles on the stock engine, never been changed, regular oil changes, warm it up enough, beat on it enough to keep the carbon away with a side of fun from time to time..

got it compression tested(the real one not the bs way) rotors tested at 116 psi on all three faces on the front, and 110 psi on all three faces at the rear rotor

just goes to show what a little tlc can do for the car....

you take care of the car, it will take car of you, but if your gona drive it like a dick a 20+ year old engine can only handle so much before something important gives

have fun with the car of course, its the whole point of owning one, just dont drive like honda owners do....theres a reason there most disliked after all
