haha Ya i didnt care for my artic silver car at first either. I was like "oh yay a sliver car". Then you park it next to like 4 or 5 other silver cars. Then you see it has a deeper richer color the any other silver.

Glad to say that your wrong. I searched and didn't find much on this, so I went ahead and did it. Everything bolts right in, no issues.

I'm glad to hear it! I read up a whole afternoon on the topic and most of the people said that the places needed to bolt the thicker vert front subframe to a coupe chassis are not predrilled on the coupe chassis.

Same thing with the main x-member, it mounts just inboard of the rear control arm mounts with some hefty metal add-ons. It would take some welding and some good imagineering but it could be done. IMO there are better ways to accomplish stiffening without going to all that trouble.

If you have a vert main x-member though your job would be more than half done. You would have the correct mounts for the front and they would line up the piece to place your rear mounts.

The metal they used for the mounts is close to 1/8" thick so they expected it to do some work.

^I used the vert front suspension, not including the subframe(cradle).

Had my taxes done, and have a good chunk of cash left over. So, bought a GReddy T4 manifold, and some other random small things for the project.

Well its been cold except for the last few days and there is no heat in the shed, so I haven't been doing much on it lately. But I have got the headlight cover to fit pretty good, still not perfect but I will screw with it tomorrow. Also worked on doing the throttle body mod, and polishing the intake. Hoping in the next few days to bring it up to the heated garage and sand and paint the engine bay black. In a few days I should have access to a good camera so more pics will be up!

Some updates on progress over the last week or so. It got its first sponge bath and cleaned/degreased the engine bay preparing for paint.

Yeah the wing is very aggressive/almost obnoxious, but it has grown on me. It'll look a lot better once its all the same color, the wing is a spaz-tastic gold with a ton of metallic flake lol.

Next time its sunny I'll pull it out and get more pics, but there's rain/snow in the forcast everyday this week.

lol I've convinced myself to keep it around, mainly because I can't bring myself to selling it. I'm planning on picking up a second FC this summer for a daily, so thats what I'm saving it for.

Still not sure on a color yet...

Ok, so I talked to the guy doing the bodywork, and he'll be ready to paint it soon. I just need to get a s5 front air dam, aftermarket lip, and a piece of trim for it to be ready. Still haven't decided on a color though, however I have narrowed it down to two choices...
-BMW Montego Blue
-Infini IV Shade Green
I still have white in the back of my mind too...

Anyways, feel free to give me your opinion on which color.

blue looks awesome since you allready had a red i would go the complete opposite and go blue.

but....
white looks killer on rx7s and if i was going to paint mine i would get the mazda crystal white. looks killer in person has little flake or crystals w/e

Got a couple bag full of various new bolts for this. Decided since I'm replacing a lot of other small things I'll change out the bolts as I go with new ones.

And...

...just picked up a 88 vert that needs lots of love and attention lol, so might take a week or so break from this project...

I was really considering painting my car shade green, but upon further inspection...its just a little too understated. I started looking at other options like brittish racing green, or even that dark metalic green on the Aston Martin road race cars...

Hmm. Some colors to consider.

I haven't worked on this much, as the vert has been an attention *****... But I got a pair of s5 tails from a buddy (89gtuslider), and decided I'd take on the tedious task of modernizing them. I got one done and mounted, and I have to put the other one back together yet.
Also talked to where I got laid off from, and with any luck I'll be working again in 2 weeks, so progress will be made a bit faster...

Anyways, here's a pic of the vert, and a link to what its gone through so far:

Well I'm finally working again! Here's some recent progress:

Modernized the s5 tails. I have them on the car, I'll try and get pics of them mounted tomorrow.

And here's the warning light gauge pod mocked up. Very well designed pod, fits amazingly well! Props to ian99rt for making a great product.

Body work is set to start within a few weeks, I got all the s5 trim now, a s5 bumper lined up, and maybe an aftermarket lip!
