I painted it two coats of white but still you can see some diffuse green color.. It doesnt show that good in real life but on the picture it looks NOT good!
Therefor im gonna spray two more coats tonight! I just have to glue an aircraft wing together first :lol2:

I finally talked to the guy who owns the paintshop im gonna use.. So 8. feb im going to paint my car. I hope we get enaugh time to paint the daily and the drifter that day. If not i have to wait with the daily.
That means i got three weeks to finnish the bodykit molds and make a new hood with the URAS aero bonnet scoop thing...

Today i manage to do alot. 8.5 hour overtime at work, 2 coats of more white paint in the engine bay and i took the REW engine out of the daily.
I got one Q though. What is the most usuall cause to make the clutch housing(?) so oily? Both of my cars got alot of oil all over the clutch housing, inside and out.. also the transmission looks oily. Is there any gaskets i should change? Exentric shaft seals?

yeah SOME kind of seal is leaking.

change both the transmission seals and the rear main oil seal on the motor. also check that your clutch slave cylinder is not leaking and that the dust boot is not damaged.

with that amount of oil in the bell housing, im wondering if you were experiencing clutch slippage

I havnt had any problems with clutch slippage. Im running the OS giken clutch and it works like it should. Even freshly rebuilt engine got a thin oil "film" on the rear iron. The seals look like new! How do you change the transmission seal?

Okey, today i did something i didnt have to do.. I took the engine in pieces..
The internal parts looks like new.. Apex seals, sideseals, rotors, housings, irons etc.. The only negativ thing i found was a scratch on one rotor bearing.
Ive done all the engine prepp myself so im very pleased to see that everything looks that good after 1 year of much happening to it.. (i know it isnt a long time but the engine has been going trough alot!).

Anyway. What should i do to the engine to get it even better. I mean, i cant put it together as it is. Thats boring..
I am gonna change the bearings.
What about high strength bolts?
New oil pump? (looks new, but i dont remember buying a new one :P)
Oil press regulator?
Ive also noticed that some people make a oil line from under the filter and to the front iron(?) Is this something i should do?
Should i try to port my intakes? I got RE engine so they are quite big..

might as well port it since it's in pieces. You don't have emissions over there, do you?

How hard, from a scale one to ten, is it to port the intakes?
We do have emissions. They are not as strickt as in cali..
My car was faaar above maximum co2 and NOx but the guy who took the control got so tired of seeing my car so he told me to go away for an hour.. When i came back it was under the limit :)
The drifter is not gonna have license plates this year since i now got another FC for street use.

I got some s4 irons here. Ive allready done the exhaust ports and they worked great last year :) Im gonna take a closer look at it. Maybe its a good ide to buy some templates to!

While i was washing the parts today i took a closer look at the housings. They dont look as great as i thought yesterday...
I can try to take som pictures so you guys can take a look. The polished surface isnt that polished anymore.. Hard to explain, but i guess most of the engine builders here have seen it before..

Got the REW engine in pieces yesterday and found a broken seal but everything else seems to be okey (havnt got it clearance checked yet)..

As for the rebuilds i think i buy a totall rebuild kit for the drifter and use partly old parts on the REW engine.
I cant find any good kits with everything i MUST change on the rew.. Anyone knows where to find one?

I have started making a mold of the L\H sideskirt. Cleaned my engine rebuild room and ordered ALOT of parts (got much left!)

EDIT: Ive also glas blasted the REW engine. I know some people say its not smart to blast it but ive done it before without problems. If you do just be 110% sure that you`ve washed away every little glas particle ;)

Still no picture update but one of my sideskirt molds got finnished today. The front bumper is almost ready for molding. I installed our old kitchen with a new top + SSteal bench in my engine rebuild room. The inside of the car is almost ready for paint. More parts has been ordered and the post office is getting kinda busy delivering all the previous ordered parts :D
Other than that i hope i can start making the mold for the other sideskirt today and sand down the front bumper and make it ready for paint.
Its under 1.5 week until im gonna paint the drifter so i have to make it ready for that too.
The wrecked FC is parked outside my workshop and the workshop owner wants it gone. It`ll get chop chopped and probably end up as a trackday trailer :P

Doesnt summit racing have 22mm -> an-10 adapters? I cant find em.. wherelse can i order stuff like that?

My first sideskirt mold is finnished.. It doesnt look good at all since i didnt use enaugh time creating an good edge around the skirt. That results in more work to make the copies look good. I have worked alot with composites but ive used it to repair aircraft parts, not making bodykits :)
Anyway, i know what to make the other molds much better! Now i just have to sand the bumpers perfect!

Look at the finnish you`ll get if you put down a few extra hours getting the plugg (part you make a mold of) perfect! (tobad i painted it in a really dusty paintbox :wallbash: )

Small update..
The other sideskirt mold is almost finnished. Frontbumper is ready for prime and paint. The interior is stripped and ready for sanding!
More parts arriving everyday :D

Next week ive vecation (because i need to build caaars :)). Paint-day is next saturday so hopefully i will have the drifter almost done by the end of next week!
The daily is waiting for a fresh rebuild and windscreen + some minor stuff then i can get it controlled and hopefully get my license-plates :D

(Im currently in the process of pulling the front end around the bottom corners where it crumpled at the fenders).. as soon as i get the body straight.. hopefully tonight. after that i'll start sanding the entire car +the body kit

Yeh man. You've just got to keep goin strong. When i first dove into major body work 2 cars ago I had NO idea what the hell i was doing and found it hard to find motivation to keep working. But once i saw the finished project and watched that car drive away as beautiful as it was.. everything was immediatlely worth the bullshit that i had endured. :)
