The blue is Lamborghini Apple Candy Blue. The orange is for engine cowlings on the Boeing 737 :D :D
The front bumper is far from finnish. I had 3 layers of filler primer that needs to be sanded down to smooth out all the cracks/bumps in the bumper. It is really important to have a smooth front bumper when making a mold from it, since the mold will be a DIRECT copy of the plug(bumper).

I`ve now sorted out what coilovers i have "left" and what other racing parts i got. The new FC will get Tein HA`s, a pair of Racingbeat anti sway bars, new bushings, DTSS eliminator and FD seats :)

would it be too much to ask for some more info on that bumper on the orange rx7? I like it a lot. Keep up the fantastic work!

Sindregutt 01-10-08 03:37 AM

The frontbumper on the orange one is a S5 bumper i had to make since i had so high temps at the track. I simply marked the hole up with tape in a way i ment it would look okey and the i cut it of with a saw. Its not perfect but thats just because i didnt care :)

Sindregutt 01-10-08 03:41 AM

Here you can see a the frontbumper better. You can also see that you`ll get big "holes" at each side if you dont put on some glasfiber or something like that!

Yet another day of sanding. Not fun n`or exciting but it has to be done! The plan is to begin to make a front bumper mold next week.
Tomorrow im gonna get the new rx7 so i guess there be something to do on that one this weekend (remove the FD coolers, windshield, radiator)

:) Got the new car yesterday. I spent four hours moving the car 2 km on a trailer.. The road was totally covered with ice.. Damn, what a trip!
Anyway, here it is. Its a 1987 with some minor rust attacks and a really f**ed up wiring harness so i have to remove everything in the engine bay :P

I just hope the engine will run with megasquirt so i can check the compression. If not, rebuild or 20b swap! :) :)

Here are my "new" oil coolers. I think they are from a FD?
Does anyone know what kind of threads it is on the coolers? Im gonna go with AN all over on the oil this year to so i need some adapters i guess.

Nice work Sindegrutt! Where in Norway do you live? I went over there a couple times when I was younger... Beautiful country. My Dad leads a tour over there every year. :bigthumb:

this should answer ur question

Sindregutt 01-16-08 12:37 AM

thanks sub9lulu.. I should start to search more :)...
I live near the main airport (Oslo Gardermoen). Its a great country with many cool roads :) But we should get more tracks!

Sindregutt 01-16-08 01:08 PM

I removed the engine today and im going out in the garage later to remove rest of the stuff so i can prepare it for paint.
I got some issues though.
Should i rebuild the engine? It got maybe 5000-10000km since last rebuild and its been used much on trackdays.

Which color in the engine bay and inside the car? Orange or black? If im going with black i should paint it before i paint the outside of the car orange..

you're cars nice, glad to see you didn't give up man.

Sindregutt 01-17-08 11:00 AM

Thanks! I was/am to deep into the FC mud hole.. cant get out if it now :D
Got TONS of OEM and aftermarket parts so i need cars to use em on :)

WE3RX7 01-17-08 01:02 PM

Cool projects - you really like orange huh? Is it possible to own a stock daily driver T2? lol...

Sindregutt 01-17-08 04:27 PM

hehe.. The color is cool but it makes the FC look boring. All the beautyfull lines etc doesnt show very good. The reason for going orange again is because we are a "team" with orange track cars. I wanted green or something like that..
The daily FC is supposed to be almost stock, but i know myself good enaugh to say it wont stay stock for long :D
Got a pair of Tein HA coilovers, bushings, RB anti-sway bars+++ lying around here somewhere. I now have one garage, one barn and one workshop full of FC parts (and cars). I never sell stuff, thats the problem. buy buy buy.. hehe

afro88 01-17-08 07:52 PM

The build threads for drift fc's on this site inspire me. For some reason ae86 build threads never inspired me this much..... wonder why....

Sindregutt 01-18-08 02:16 AM

:D ae86 is a toyota.......
Today its time to prime the engine bay. Everything is sanded down, now i just have to wash and make a "paint box" like i did last time
Ive changed my plans on going black for the engine bay. Its a race car and white is the way to go!

white it is!

Hi!

great call! it should "always" be white as you say in a race-car. Atleast a very light color since it´s much easier to inspect for "cracks" and leaks... great effort you´re putting in to the car. How big is the drift scene in the Nordic area ? What about Sweden ?

I know about US and Japan but in Sweden motorsport info seems to be reactive meaning that if you´re not really "in to it", in best case you hear about it when it has already happened..

/Best regards & good luck !

Geez. Nice FC's . When did you get into rotaries? You do all the work yourself? Do you work at a mechanic shop or something because it seems you got a lot of skills. Including drifting skills lol

Black looks probably cleaner but like you say, easier to check for leaks etc and when you are fixing stuff in the engine bay its much lighter with white.
Drifting in norway has exploded! We got two series and both have club(novice), semipro(twin novice) and pro("elite"). In the one called powerdrift there are 96 reserved start numbers and thats just semipro and pro.
I know nordic drifting series got some runs in Sweden and some in Finland

Thanks!
I bought my first (the red one) when i was 16, now im 20. Im doing everything myself just to save some money :D I often end up doing things twice but im getting better! Ive been working as a flight technician for two years other than that im just another rx7 enthusiast!
My drifting skills? haha, i got lack of drifting skills... I ended up with startnumber 15, thats loow. I have to get better this year and dont wreck any more FC chassies :wallbash:

Paint enginebay some awesome black and get orange colored parts, would look neat.

Sindregutt 01-18-08 10:09 AM

Black would definitly look awesome but it is hard to see leaks and stuff.. I probably go for white on the driftcar..
