You don't need to have the studs pressed in or out. You can get them out and in with a hammer quite easily.

Tires fit a verity of widths but for a given tire width, here's the way to find the ideal wheel width. Subtract 25.4 mm from the tire width, then convert to inches.

225 - 25.4 ~ 200 / 25.4 ~ 8 inch rim.
205 - 25.4 ~ 180 / 25.4 ~ 7 inch rim.

205's should go on 7's, 215 on 7.5's, 225's on 8's, 235's on 8.5's.

You can obviously go larger or smaller since sidewalls are flexible, especially if you autocross and/or have class restrictions. Autocrossers love using wide, low sidewall, small wheel diameter tires on largest rims they can fit in class, to get a gearing advantage as well as lots of grip. However, if they could run larger rims, they would in order to stiffen up the sidewall and prevent tire roll.

Back to the mustang wheels, I have a set of 15 x 7 3-spoke Mustang wheels, but I'm not quite sure what they weigh. They're not the greatest looking wheels, but if you powder coat them black, it's not half bad. They'd work as spare ITS wheels as their offset is just about right.

Yea, 225/45/17's fit very nicely on a 17x8, very square sidewalls and good feel and feedback, they're a bit stretched on a 17x7.

Those 15" Mustang rims are quite cheap used and would make great cheap trackday or autocross wheels for a budget minded person.

I have these too! lol

I also have a set of the 17x8 Mustang GT wheels that everyone likes. But I dunno, the 3 spokes are slightly concaved so I actually kinda like how they look versus the GTs...

get 245's. i had 255's on gt wheels - they are pretty bulged, and sat extremely close to my coilovers (inner clearance is pretty iffy, considering the variety of front struts out there)
this is the only pic i have..

i dont believe ive seen the deep dish bullitts on an FC yet. be aware that you'll need to pull the fenders, stretch skinny tires, or buy flares to fit them (on back. front will only fit the no-dish bullitts).
heres some bullitt pics (non deep dish..)

Nice, how much did you have to pull the fenders?

really depends on camber and tire. you could run these on stock body with just a roll (small tires, more camber), or run giant meats and pull the fenders out.
max tire with coilovers (in my experiance) is 255/285.
the pics in my photobucket are 245/275 with 1 degree all around. which was dumb, cuz FC's need a lot more front camber to work properly.

hmm so that means i can run my FR500 wheels, which will work if i just take off the 315s i have on the 17x10.5s. i guess i could run some 285s or just forget about the deep dish look and go with some 17x9s like the front and run 275s.

285s most definately wont fit without a pull. you can run like 245 probably.
heres a pic of 285 with the same 1 degree camber, and no pull:
