that looks like a nice and affordable set up. Just curious though, do these line up wit the hub tightly? or would you need hubcentric rings? if it matters.

The ET style conical lug nuts should center the wheel.
Lugcentric instead of hubcentric.

You can run with or without hub rings, it's more conveniant to run with them, otherwise you'll have to torque the wheels with the wheel in the air. Those ET style nuts are interesting, but it's not a perfect solution, as there's a limited amount of foce the extended part of the thread can take, and they may not fit into the holes. It'll definetely help with the problem though, but longer, stronger studs are a good idea anyway if you're going to be driving it hard.

Nice... yeah those GT wheels look pretty nice on the rex.

Hey sprint rx, what kind of rims adn what size do you have on your ride. They are pretty nice. Are they light weight?

I got 11 to 12 full turns of thread engagement with the ET style lugnuts on the stock studs. The Lower part of the nut fits snug in the wheel holes, keeping it centered.

The 15x7's off the v6 cars work great for drag slicks. I think the ones I got are off a 2000. They weigh around 16-17#'s which isn't bad for a factory wheel.

Do you guys think these would fit in an FC?

Front: 17x9 +24mm offset
Rear: 17x10.5 +27mm offset.

If not, what would it take? Corksport wide fenders? Spacers? Fender rolling?

Yeah... I haven't had any problem with mine. You don't need longer studs. I have launched VERY hard on mine with no problems.

I liked this idea at first, but I paled on it a bit when I went into the stree to look at some mustangs 'live'.

The style is right to me - especially for the vert - but I don't much like the finish. The wheels I saw look like a aluminum putty or something, kinda dull.

Has anyone got any pics of these wheels painted and polished?

Just picked up a set of these puppies for a cool 50 bucks on craigslist. They're nothing to look at now but I'll give them a good sand and maybe put some flat black paint on them. I already bought a set of these on CL but one of the rims was all messed up and the lug holes looked like they were chewed up with an air chissel. Now I've got seven of these. They're 16x7.5 but the tires are too tall and they are 235's all around so regretably they're coming off tommorrow.

i have 245/45-17 tyres andbecause of that i have to run a 10mm spacer in the front to clear my coil-overs. if i was running a 235/40/17 i would not have that problem.

i had to roll the front fenders oh so slightly.

I read inthe suspension forum that you can go up to 8" up front and 10" in back.

I can't say from experience, though, as I am rolling on 7" Front/8" Back OZ's.

These sound great for the money...a set of four costs the same as my rear two wheels...and those were supposed to be fairly "affordable"

So, according to that chart, a 17x9 won't fit in the front without modifications?

I was looking at these (for an FC)

17x9 +24

I don't suppose anyone would happen to know what the 94-95 15x7 V6 wheels weigh? I've seen that the 96+ ones are 16lbs, but I am curious to know if the older ones are lighter. I'll probably be getting a set of the 15x7's this summer for use as track wheels to put race tires on and I'd like to get whatever ones are lighter. They're going to be for track only, so it doesn't matter that they're ugly, because they're cheap, they'll fit without spacers, they're cheap, they're not terribly heavy, but most importantly they're cheap.

i ran '03 cobra 17x9s with a +26 for a long time, they fit fine but the fronts stick out about 3/4 inch. tire sizes were 245/45/17 in the front and 275/40/17 rear. occasionly they'd scrub when bottoming out the suspension (which was stock).

milicha8 - i had those gt wheels before my cobras, i had a 225/55/16 in the front and they scrubbed pretty bad, but the 235/55/16 in the rear were fine.

I just picked this project up again this weekend and finished it up. I don't know when I'll get tires since I just bought some for another set. Anyway they came out really nice and just require a good polish and they'll work out well.

17x9 +24 does in fact fit the front. I have 17x9 FR500 wheels up front with tein flex's and 255/40/17 (definately the widest tire possible with coilovers- theres at most 2mm clearance on the inside). i did some hardcore bat rolling to the front fenders.. but no rubbing now.
