So i just made a down payment on a 10th AE FC, and i was curious to know how people feel about modifying them for the sake of performance and or aesthetics, or keeping them stock in the name of retaining classic value. Who's done what and how do you all feel about it?

The car I'm buying is going to need a paint job, and i was thinking of getting Lexus pearlescent white. But i was afraid that by doing that it might decrease potential value when it becomes a clasic.

My view on modding a 10AE, I'd leave the exterior alone (other than lower/wheels of course) but do what ever you want otherwise. Under the hood, it's no different than any other TII, so it's really no loss. It could be easily returned to stock if someone was that adamant about it.

And that pearl white would be epic. These cars will never be really worth very much, so I wouldn't worry that much about it's future value.

 

yeah i figured that too, I think im gonna shoot for the lexus paint.

and with people like Jrat with crazy high numbers on his 10thAE, i dont feel as bad if i did something to it. I deffinatly want to put some better wheels and decent suspension. How do you feel about s5 tails and bumpers?

i know in the end its my car and up to me to do what i want with it. I just like hearing everyones opinions

I'm got a 10AE...the only thing left oem is the steering wheel lol...and I put a kit on it and painted it Rx8 pearl white too.

 

s5 tails on s4 should be a sin.. lol

 

I feel like it's my car why shouldn't I do what I want to it. There are some purists out there just like any car, but in the end it's up to you.

 

The 10 AE can only be worth more in stock form but its not much of a difference. Keep The Stock Tail Lights!!!! I think the 10 AE tails are the coolest ones, just because they match the car. lol But still s4 tails way nicer than s5

Only thing I regret doing was using an NA hood since I went front mount...I want my scoop back!
