could we please keep the insurance liability posts in another thread about car modding and leave it out of the tail light thread?

Great write-up. Nice detail, backed up by photos. Very well documented.

I've been wanting to do the same to my S4 tails for some time now, but with an LED strip.

Since your car is street legal (you aren't modding a track car here), I think the insurance comments belong in this thread until the issue is resolved. Someone needs to call their insurance company, and get it writing, requirements for changing (modernizing) your tail lights. There has to be a protocal on this, because there are a million ricers, drving the roads with their alteza lights.

I look at the new Cadillacs with the LED strip lights, and think that as long as the light is DOT approved, and not blocked by diffusers, or tint, this mod would be acceptable with insurance companies. But the research needs to be done to make this thread Sticky-worthy.

Nice! You should try having the inside of the halos light up when you step on your brakes.

Nice Light Mod!

Nice, simple, fast, functional.. and it didnt take you 1234434566 YEARS to produce the finished product.

Well Done.

For Show And Off Road Use Only!!! Just Like Every Other Aftermarket Performance Part For Your Car! Just Like Your Intake, Boost Controller, Aftermarket Steering Wheel, STRUT BARS, EVEN YOUR SHIFT **** is a sign that if you get in an accident, you where probably speeding etc etc. Aftermarket suspension shocks/springs, oh your car probably lost control and you skid and caused teh accident.. etc Silly

For now, we will say this is for show and offroad use only if that makes people feel better.

LOL!
what is wrong with this guy... EVERYONE has said it's a cool mod, and well done... and still he cries like a baby.

"I'm taking my pictures and going home!"

What ever bro, what I was trying to say is that, with a little research, you could have a thread that would get sticky-ed and be a great asset to the club. But you are acting like your 15 or something.

All you have to do is call up your insurance, or get on their website. Get on your states website and try to find some info on mod'd tail lights...

But now this thread will be locked and get lost with all the gay mindless posts that plague this forum daily.

PS. i saved all the photos for future reference... LOL

Thread cleaned...

I'm not quite sure what happened here. Until the last few posts, no one here was insulting or anything but polite to the original poster. All criticisms were legitimate and constructive. I guess some people just don't know how to take criticism without getting emotionally wounded. I blame parents personally, who "bubble wrapped" and insulated their kids from the real world. Now we have this entire generation of sheltered people entering the work force who have no idea how to make their own decisions and fall to pieces the moment someone disagrees or offers suggestions on where to improve. It's going to be really bad in a few years when the second generation of these people (who have been even more insulated from life by parents who wanted to be friends instead of authority figures) enter the world...

I guess what I'm trying to say is "thread closed".
