To lean back or not to lean back ?
To lean back or not to lean back ?
I just got done dropping some stuff off for my brother and he said I wasn't a real driver because I didn't lean my seat back all the way. At 5' 10" 149lbs I like to have it straight up so I can see better, all the way back though so my legs aren't destroyed. Anyways, is it really better to have the seat leaned back all the way?
Dumb question, feel free to flame me; though I really don't see how it makes you better if you lean the seat back.

i wouldnt be able to see crap if i did, i understand if your tall and cant fit... "your not a real driver, because you dont lean back enough?" you dont see Lemans' or F1 drivers leaning back when they drive their cars? and they're real "drivers"
Upright posture with your arms slightly bent at the elbow is the best position. Leaning back with your arms stretched out to reach the wheel or being too close to the wheel is not ideal. He probably thinks you aren't a real driver because you granny shift and don't double clutch like you should... just ask any racer... any real racer... Vin Diesel prefered.
Lol, okay as long as you guys say it doesn't make me a p... girl.
I don't double clutch mostly because it wouldn't work as my tranny is f-d.
I'm not even going to justify "granny shifting" with a reply.
Whoops; I didn't mean it wouldn't work I meant that it wouldn't matter.
I've got to rebuild the tranny and replace the clutch when I get the engine rebuilt anyways.

I lean back SOME. Just enough so my lower back doesn't hurt. I have a fixed back driver seat now with the front mounts at max high and the rear mounts at max low, otherwise I have almost NO head clearance and forget about wearing a helmet.....lol.

Any REAL racer.....
I wish i could find that retard with the red glx on youtube leaned back and jumping hard back and forth into the seat during shifts. Left arm at a 90* angle with chest, seat back resting atop the rear bins.....
