Thanks for all the comments guys, I appreciate the feedback.
It is always good to get other peoples opinion as well as share my experience for others to maybe get ideas and learn from too.

SEPTEMBER 2009
My friend, who owns a Series 5 FC Turbo, has just bought a Mazdaspeed 1.5 way LSD in from Japan, which means the nice Series 5 LSD in his car currently will be finding itself a new home in my Series 4.
So we goT his FC over to my garage and put my poor baby out in the street and got to removing his diff.
Now, half we there!! It is all out and done.
Tomorrow night we will put the Mazdaspeed :SD in his car and then put the Series 5 LSD in my car.
Adam's FC has kicked mine out into the rain:
Series 5 LSD all out:
Mazdaspeed 1.5 way LSD:
Series 5 LSD and Mazdaspeed LSD waiting to be prepped:
Waiting for the 1.5 way
My poor S4 waiting for the Series 5 LSD and its home back!!

For you boys in the States, I would suggest you try www.bidjdm.com as they are run by www.rhdjapan.com and is a good operation.

COILOVERS
I was concerned the JIC coilovers I have bought may not have been 100% so I took them out of the car and dropped them of at Centreline suspension. Chris at Centreline stripped them all down and gave me the good news that they are if fact all OK. So I picked them up and just need to refit them into the car.
BODY PARTS - PREP AND PAINT
I have a big list of Series 5 body parts to fit to the car, but as I have sourced them from a variety of sources they are all different colours. I was going to rub them all back, prep them and paint them my self, but with two young kids I am struggling to find the time. So I dropped it all off with Mazbitz and am having him do all the hard work for me. So hopefully soon I will be able to pick it all up.
The items I am getting painted are...
- Genuine Series 5 Side Skirts
- Genuine Series 5 Front Bar
- Genuine Series 5 Lower Lip
- Genuine Series 5 Body Moulds
- Genuine Side Mirrors
- My Sunroof (which I have cut the rust out of)
WHEELS
I received an email from Import Monster yesterday and my new SSR SP1 wheels are now in a container and on there way to Australia. So hopefully in about 6 weeks I will have those, by which stage all the Series 5 items should be painted and fitted.
BUSH KIT
I am just about to order a full Energy Suspension Bushing Kit, so this way I can fit new bushes while it is all up on stands. The bush kit takes care of front and rear control arms, front and rear sway bay mounts and front and rear sway bar links.
SERIES 5 LSD
The Series 5 LSD removed from Adam's car is sitting on my garage floor and I just have to find the motivation to actually pull my S4 diff out and install this unit.

OCTOBER 2009
I got lazy and decided I could not be bothered to do the paint and panel myself.
So I dropped all the Series 5 body parts off at a panel shop, Mazbitz, and had them take care of it all.
They have all come up great and I just need to fit it all on the car now.
The front bumper is still to painted, but that will get done in a few weeks.
Here are some photos of the finished parts...

So, when you space the spend over 16 months it is not too bad.
If you look at the start of each post I have made you will see that I have dated when the change actually took place.
I just have never really posted much on these forums, but as I visit RX7 club regularly Now I thought I should add a build thread.

I also played around with the suspension then fitted the new wheels and tyres.
It took me a few goes to get the ride height where I want it, but all done now.
Basically I have set it to the LOWEST LEGAL height it can be. Now, this is a clearance of 81mm which is based on the Vic Roads guidelines that say the height between the front and rear axle at the lowest point must be no less than the wheel base (2.43m) multiplied by 33.33 = 80.99mm.
Once it is registered and I get to drive it a bit to get a feel for it, I may lower it a little more. It will be a weekend car only, so I am happy to take the risk with it being a little lower than legal.

More updates.
So as you would have seen in a previous photo I have dropped some big dollars on engine oil and oil filter. So I do not want to go wasting it via a small seep/leak I have in my factory oil cooler lines.
So for that reason I have decided to upgrade to a braided set up with -10 lines and nice fittings.
I have now dropped engine oil, removed the oil cooler and lines and drained the cooler too.
I now just need to fit some new lines, reinstall and fill her up with the Royal Purple engine oil and install the K&N Oil Filter.

I rubbed my front S5 bar back to bare plastic, primed it and take it to Mazbitzs to lay some 2 pac down on it.
Can't wait to get the S5 bar, S5 front lip, S5 side skirts and S5 moulds all fitted now.

Bought a set of oil cooler lines from an RX7 Club user in the Canada.
They are the Racing Beat version and include a set of new washers.
This will be to replace my leaky stock lines.

I have been wondering what to use in place of the factory radio, tape deck and equaliser (3 DIN in size) and decided to blank it with some carbon fiber.
I have bought a sheet of 2mm thick carbon which will be strong enough to mount gauges etc in at a later date.
I just need to cut it to size and attach to the old stereo mounts with 4 black hex cap screws.
NEW SHEET OF CARBON
BLACK CARDBOARD TO TEST FIT SIZE
CARBON SHOULD LOOK GOOD

So far I have installed...
Series 5 Front Bar
Series 5 Lower Lip
Series 5 Side Skirt (LHS)
I just have to do the right hand side side skirt and I am done.
I also need to source a Series 5 rear bar, but will just paint the black section of my Series 4 bar for the moment.
Here are some progress shots.
