That is a great deal. Believe it or not, this car is not mint. So you got a better deal than I did, believe me.
The po had no clue how to take care of this car. I really didn't get that great of a deal but it is a GTUs with low miles and I plan on restoring it to stock. Then it may be worth something.

I was expecting pristine but,Yea I was a little disappointed when I first saw it but with low miles, no accidents, no rust, it was a no brainer. The interior is good(dirty) except for the worn driver seat bolster which can be repaired. A few dings here and there with no dents or scratches or rock chips. The wheels look new. Has original brakes. Trim and rubber all looks good. Paint needs a good claybar and polish but looks pretty good for a red fc. The big thing is the motor. It will run but the way it sounds is not good.

Actually I made a mistake it's 28K miles. But yea the guy is pretty big and those cloth seats are thin. The car looks like a 28K mile car that was not owned by an rx7 person like us. I don't think he ever cleaned the inside of the car and it still looks to be in good shape minus the bolster. The rubber trim and door seals are a good sign. They are fine. Either way I'm excited about this car. It will be very desireable when I'm done with it. Sparing no expense.

here's my 67k mile vert that was "not owned by an rx7 owner like us." Not to brag, but as an example- Look how well it came out! I bet your car has the same if not more potential!!

Hell yea! Congrats, welcome to the group! so awesome, all the GTUs's are coming out of the woodworks.
I picked up my 10k mile GTUs 4 years ago for $3k. No one ever flipped out and told me not to mod it... From the reactions I got, you woulda thought it was a crappy base 86.
Oh well.

I spent/spend hours in the garage measuring, poking, comparing... It will never end.
(Oh, BTW... You're not alone... The last few years of my cars life with the previous owner, it for some reason was removed from storage, and kept outside constantly in the texas sun... needless to say, people swore up and down I was going to need a repaint. I spent an ENTIRE night ( watched the sun rise) in the garage with a clay bar, polish, and wax. just take some time and give it some love. imperfections come back out.)
