I have a 3" straight pipe to an ebay special muffler. Trust me, I know loud exhaust, I can barely think riding in my car...

its a fun journey so far! and more pics tomorrow in the florida sun
Just to warn you, I tried that exact thing thinkin I could pretty simply get around that out of a street ported n/a. Had a SAFCII, hks injectors, hks intake, full exhaust and lots more and was only at 115 to the wheels. Going turbo is only a little bit more and is well worth it. I was immediately dissappointed with my rebuilt n/a and I only drove it 2 years before I traded for a TII. Just food for thought.

ohh yeah thats right. i actually paid $400 for my vert !

okay so anybody have any exhaust combinations that are bearable while driving? How much quieter is a racing beat exhaust over a straight pipe to a can?

anything not stock on a na will kill your ears. i ran a 2 in thru a glasspack and it was ok. that is until it ripped off the car at 80 on the freeway. but then again a glasspack wont last with the exhaust temps for very long. just make sure that no matter what you have the pick up tube hooked up with the new exhaust

I ran an Sti muffler for years on my n/a. Sounded perfect! I loved the look and sound, and it couldn't have been a better fit. Probably 1/4 inch clearance on all sides, I literally mean a perfect fit... just more food for thought. Plus most Sti guys buy after market exhaust and will prob give you there stock mufflers for free. Thats how I got mine. Pics.

You're gonna want to put that back lol. It controls the auxilary ports in the intake track. There should be two of them, hopefully the other one is still on it. They're underneath the UIM. Not too hard, but you're missing out on power right now.

5/6th port actuators, may be a spare he removed or was going to install. you can find pictures of where they go with a little bit of searching.

haha yeah i figured out what it was and where it goes. But i have no idea where the other actuator is. And they aren't functioning, even when i try to turn the rod on the LIM its stuck. I also have a straight pipe soooo there isnt enough backpressure to even open them. How can I unstick them though? would I need to completely take apart the intake manifolds?

So ive been reading all these stories about how ebay short shifters dont fit correctly and all. I dont mind spending time to get it fit, but I dont have access to alot of tools, besides the standard wrench, screwdriver etc.
anybody have any experience with this shifter ?

I have a brand new Apexi exhaust control valve for sale if your interested. You can quiet up the exhaust on the fly. It might takes some work to get it to fit. Here's the for sale thread:

Just the headers and nothing else? Yeah, that had to have been quite painful.

You might be able to get away with just a mild, or more normal street port and achive 200hp. Just watched a tuning session on a NA with a haltech E6K (old haltech) push 180hp to the wheels with stock ports, pretty much open exhaust, and stock intake with a cone (minus the MAF). Pretty badass.
