Finally bought myself an rx7!

After searching FOREVER I found my new baby. 1988 vert with the cleanest interior I've ever seen! Only mods are a cone air filter and straight pipe (loud as shiiiit)
The bad stuff is that the fuel level gauge doesnt work and no stereo after my finals I'll get to fixing that and getting a/c up. Then exedy stage 1 clutch and maybe a full racing beat exhaust

My long term goals would be to make around 200 hp on an aggressive streetport with supporting mods...but that'll be this summer!
Okay pictures!!

thanks guys! yeah the seats are amazingly clean, along with the rest of the interior. I'm looking at steering wheels now, but nothing to "ricey." Maybe a suede deep dish....
I'm having soo much fun with her!

Do I see a silencer in the exhaust???? Take that "loud as ****" exhaust up a notch and remove that silencer. J/K, looks clean, welcome to the love/hate relationship between a RX7 owner and his/her car.

Wow! That's steep! At least she's real clean, and like everyone has said, take care of her and she'll do the same to you. Any plans with the car, or is this just going to be a dd?

Rule of thumb for this site... Never tell anyone what you paid for your FC unless it was under $500. Otherwise, everyone will tell you it cost too much. (I don't think $3300 is a bad price for a nice clean FC at all.)

It's my dd, but once the motor gives up (knock on wood) i wanna build an all out n/a. my ultimate goal will be 200 hp at the wheels on an streetport...but for now shes gonna stay stock except for exhaust, suspension etc

its a fun journey so far! and more pics tomorrow in the florida sun

IMO verts are too heavy for a n/a... swap an all stock turbo motor in for a dd, then pick up a hardtop fc for a n/a project. Boost is fun too

All I can say is that if you live in the Rust Belt, finding an FC with solid floors and all its fenders intact is kind of rare. When my first FC died in '07, I spent about four months looking at every car that came up for sale within about a 2 hour drive of my house. I must have checked out over 20 cars and they were just about all ready for the junkyard. Besides the one I bought (28K miles, near mint condition, S4 GTU recently moved from Florida, equipped just about the way I'd have ordered it in '88) I briefly considered one high mileage '89 GXL for $1300 that had a solid body but needed paint and most of the interior was gone or broken. I honestly think that outside of the Southern and Southwestern U.S., decent FCs are fairly scarce. Paying a little more than $500 for a solid one that you can go check out in person is not a bad deal at all.

Since buying this car in '07, I've probably seen all of five others on the road here. I see way more FDs, and I don't exactly see a ton of those either.

More power to all the guys with the $500 cars that are in nice shape, but I couldn't find any around me.

the last $500 fc i saw here was a rusted out shell lol
