OK:
I've logged nearly 400kms on the engine so far, I've gotta put soem front wheel bearings in and change the oil. WHeel bearings sound square at 120km/hr
But has rang out well thus far. I can get slightly beyond 300km's to a tank which is around what it got in stock form, of course I know once there's some boost and the secondaries come online that will drop significantly.I had a minor issue with the Jacob's ignition - one of the amps took a ****. It was just idling away in the garage when I was going to take it out for the first time when it started running on one rotor all of a sudden. I could daisy chain the remaining amp onto both coils and it would run on both rotors, but for some reason that made the tach 2X what it should be. So I just installed the factory coil again and will be using that for my road trip. I'll muck around with the Jacob's stuff when I'm NOT 5000miles from home.
Car has ran the best out of all of my setups to date. Idles like a dream at 900rpm, quiet and tame. I'll post some shots of the exhaust I built when its up on the hoist next, but theres a 3" off the turbo to a 3" Bonez high flow cat, then it splits to 3" duals, 3" straight through flo-pro mufflers and custom 3" dolphin tail tips cut out of mandrel piping. I also bought an old school Smithy's 2" dia. muffler thats 3' long and ran the wastegate dump through that. Sounds pretty ******* badass when it cracks open.
I attached a pic of the front end after final install also. I have fully functional ducts on all of the openings on the cover. The main mouth is for the intercooler and has a duct from behind it that feeds the oil cooler (140-150* oil temps while crusing in 30 degree weather lol) which is also sandwiched under the stock belly pan. The middle thin duct has a tin duct behind it which feeds the top of the intercooler, and the top of the rad. The two corner ducts utilize the factory brake ducting, and the two ducts above the headlights pump directly into the engine bay.
Also, the car hasn't been cleaned yet. That'll come after a few more days of driving once I know that I don't need to dirty it in the shop for a while

No boost yet. I made about 1psi on a highway entrance ramp on my way home from Toronto yesterday by accident, its actually hard to drive in vaccum when trying to accelerate

Thanks for the comments!
300kms on the first tank and its a little S4 tank
it only has a touch over 400kms now. Its currently back on the lift for not a wheel bearing like i thought earlier, but either a u-joint or the transmission which is making a nasty vibration at 110-120km/hr. Just wouldn't be right to cruise it down like that it may damage something since i'll be at that speed the whole time on the freeway pretty much.
Anyways it allowed for pics of the exhaust
The wet stuff on the belly pan was from a spill...
EDIT: also just noticed you can see the oil cooler duct under the belly pan where it meet the back of the intercooler, its made from white roof flashing
Home depot racing baby.

Mildly lopsided.

A *hell* of a lot quieter then the system i ran with the half bridge. This is actually my favourite configuration so far as far as noise level and actual sound.
Damn. Looking good. Love the exhaust! Is there a hanger on that wastegate dump muffler or is it just hanging there? Need sound clips!
Why no half bridge this time around?
*sigh* some day my car will be done too.....

The wastegate dump hangs from a hanger on the muffler....the hanger thats attached to the rear half of the trans supports it.
I'll get some sound clips after I put the new driveshaft/u-joints in tomorrow. I'm taking it up for a u-joint install this afternoon -they're causing the vibration not the wheel bearings. I can do it here, but I want it balanced also. Plus they'll ream the yokes, so if I ever have to do it again, it'll be cake.
Half bridge engine that was in it before had a few issues, front main/stat bearing failure and it chipped a seal due to a shitty walbro pump. I opted for a streetport this time around because I wasn't happy with the benefits of the halfbridge. It idles like a BP, makes NOISE like a BP, but doesn't have the gains of a full BP. My school of thinking on that now is go big or go home, there's really no middle ground to a certain extent. This engine idles like a ***** cat at 900rpm, still has a good exhaust note, and pulls enough vaccum that I can tune the deep vaccum ranges instead of just using decel fuel cut (which made for rough cruising around town with the HBP) so its all around MUCH better suited for street use and for my preferences at this point.
I still have the plates from that engine, so the middle iron will get an eye brow one day, and they may reside in my yet-to-be-finished race car chassis. But I just couldn't live with them on the street. Although it was fun

Thanks Dave, too bad about the Jacob's ignition
I'll have to sort it out after the road trip
Well, I installed the driveshaft with new u-joints (anyone who's heard they're *not replaceable* has heard wrong) and the vibration is much better, but its allowed me to diagnose it further.
I've found that in 5th gear the vibration is present, but not in 4th at the same road speed. Leads me to believe either the output shaft is bent, or theres some damage to the 5th gear itself causing it to be out of balance. Either way, I have shipped a spare S5 trans out to Wolfe transmission for a full rebuild, but it won't be done till I get back. I would put it one of the spares I have, but I don't want to go to the work and find out that theres something else wrong with it.
Can't wait to feel a *new* trans though. Always had beat up 20y/o stuff.

). Plus, its unique and it sounds like nothing else when the wastegate opens up
Oh and a few pounds here or there for things that make it more enjoyable and less of a race car are negated by the boost controller. Its built to be driven and enjoyed more then anything else. Thats why the ride height and suspension is what it is. THis car is a cruiser that looks the part, and hauls major ******* ***.

Ian - Im not really sure, it'll more then likely end up just being stock stuff, but I've never had a zero mile tranny before so we'll see. But they hold up pretty good considering they're designed to hold about 200bhp in the 80's lol

Hey Charn,
You'll never guess where I got that spoiler
It was the first sport spoiler I've ever seen and it was on the back of your FC at that dyno day in burlington a few years ago.................I got it from Tony and I believe you sold it to him. Funny that the first one I saw I loved, and the same literal spoiler is now on my car.
I installed stock trans mounts back in and the vibration is now next to non-existent. You can feel it in the shifter slightly now, but the car drives like brand new.
I will post some "glamour" shots of the FC before I leave on thursday and will post what I have from the trip when I return. I spent yesterday glazing the car and cleaning the interior as well as re-tuning the idle after break-in. Pretty much just chomping at the bit to get on the highway now.

As promised:

The interior is full of all my stuff for the trip, so ignore that
Just snapped a few of her all cleaned up and ready to go. Ian and Marco are coming by shortly and we'll leave for deal's gap. Should be a fun trip.
I'll post some more pics and vids when I get back after the 20th! Take care....

Nope the buzzing wasn't from the PS computer at all. It was actually from the low oil level sensor being removed in liew of the Pineapple oil pan. I just snapped the box out of the back of the cluster. I tried grounding the wires for the level sensor and it would stop, but then come back on after a minute or so of run time. ******* annoying.
EDIT: I've had the PS computer beep before when my speedo cable became detached. It was 5 beeps then a pause. NOt a constant buzz.
EDIT2:
Since I'm posting waiting for the guys, figured I'd link to some shots of the car when I bought it. Car has been a clean example of an FC from the start. Cleanest underbody on a non-restored FC I've seen in Ontario.

If there is something seriously wrong with the PS system it will buzz, i found this out working on a car with an improperly removed PS system, pulled the PS fuse and it stopped buzzing.
