Actually, they've been mounted directly infront of the leading coil ignitor (still using the stock ignitor for triggering) I'll post a pic of the location with the next batch of photos once the engine goes in. And yes, they're big bastards. RX-heaven said he was lighting 15% of his map of pure water with those bad boys. I may use H20 as opposed to meth down the road, so this will make the switch easier.

Didn't see that till later...

I would normally spray the skirts seperate from the car and install them later, unless otherwise requested. But I like experimenting (when its on my car) and I wanted to see if I could maintain a clean line/gap between the body and skirt while installing them before primer/paint. It worked out alright, save for a few little bridged areas.

But no, they aren't "moulded" in the traditional sense. Theres still a gap. I've only ever moulded kits by request since anytime you're bonding disimilar materials, you'll end up with read-through or cracking down the road.

Thanks! Yeah, I had them in once to test out the aim before final sanding the bumper.....looks pretty cool!! You'll have to wait though, I won't post any pics of that until its got red paint on it....

Well, I got the engine in this weekend. I also got the jacob's amps and coils mounted. I'll post some shots of them and the intercooler here.

Intercooler is a Godspeed FD unit that I modified to fit where I wanted it. I didn't want to ditch the rebar to run the FMIC, so I did it this way. I never had any oil temp issues with the I/C mounted at this angle, but I also have some pretty serious ducting built between the FMIC and the oil cooler.

Also, don't mind the zip-tied power inverter. Its semi permanent as it will only be in the car for tuning.

Here's some shots after the engine went in.

I got all the drivetrain/tranny stuff buttoned up underneath.

All I really have left to do is clean/paint the upper intake, install the RA10 reluctor adaptor for the Haltech, finish a couple little wiring things for some new gauges and install the rad, power steering, meth injection stuff, fill it with fluids make a base map, run it, paint the remaining body parts, install them, clean the car, drive it to DGRR.................phew lol

In all seriousness though, it should be running in a week.

Current:

I'm waiting on some -6 fittings for the FPR and then I can test the fuel system for leaks and pop the UIM on. If the fittings get here today or tomorrow it should run on the weekend, if not, the start of the week.

Alright, still no fittings for the Aeromotive FPR, so frustration/impatience will succeed an I'll throw the old turbosmart FPR back on and fire it up this weekend.

Here's some more pics from before of the AI nozzle, and the rad installed with the oil catch can.

I'll post a youtube vid next week of it running with only a down pipe

Nozzle is a 625cc/min. I'm not a fan of how long the stupid fitting on the end of the nozzle is, but hey, it works. I have made the decision to run straight water for the time being for a few different reasons. One is the coating on my custom tank did not hold up to the long term submersion testing I did with meth........it stood up, but not to my liking. Another reason is my use of AI is simply for added cooling and knock protection. My power levels don't require the use of it, so I'll just be spraying on top of a good tune, and rather then going rich from meth, I'll just use water.

It started right up relatively un-eventful. Although, I had the plug wires off and injectors disabled while I cranked it for oil pressure, and you could hear the coils cracking, boy were they LOUD! Sounded like whips cracking!

lol yeah I have no idea what that buzzer is. I've removed so much **** from the stock harness I may just disable the beeper. It could be the low oil buzzer, the low coolant buzzer, the somethingerother buzzer lol no idea.....I'll probably just unplug/disable the unit though. I've got aftermarket oil temp/pressure gauges with warning features.

Thanks for the comments!

Lookin good man. I like how you created your own FC2000 style front end by molding the CP racing buckets into the bomex bumper. I've never been a fan of the CP lights on any bumper, mainly because there were horrendous fitment issues. But, molded in so smoothly and without the lexan covers looks pretty nice.

What are your power goals with this setup? Looks like you might make more than those rear wheels can handle. You plan on putting any beefier rubber back there?

*edit*
You gonna build any ducting for the IC, oil cooler & rad?

Thanks Juiceh. The bumper may end up getting a few different styles down the road, it kind of took shape on its own as in I had slightly different plans when I got started on it...I think its pretty cool though from a custom made standpoint.

Power wise relaly nothing more then about 325ft/lbs of torque. Somewhere around 425whp. Nothing really out of this world, but fast as **** in a car this light as I'm sure you're aware The rear wheels are 9.5" with 255 tires so they'll probably bust free pretty simply. But the car will be *mostly* a street warrior so I won't be displeased with a little wheel spin

EDIT: Fan is a mercury mystique/for contour unit. On fan is controlled by the haltech and temperature sensitive, the other is manual on a switch. NEver had any issues with that setup. Plus, if one fails - there's another

Yeah, maybe next time

I don't have ballin' enough wheels to justify pulling the fenders..........yet

Thanks!

I have the rest of the parts (spoiler, hood, front cover, handle, sunroof) ready to spray, they should be getting the splash either tomorrow or friday. The mufflers are also here now so I can build the exhaust.

It should be relatively complete next week. Enough so that I can put some miles on it.

lol thanks!

I'll have some pics of the exhaust tuesday...full 3" stainless to dual 3" mufflers. Wastegate has its own "dump" piping, but with a small old school smithy's muffler.

I'll have pics with the bumper/hood etc. on then also.

Yeah you'll see in the later pictures what i have. There's basically one duct that comes from the middle, thin duct in the bumper which feeds the top of the IC and rad, then behind the bottom of the intercooler I have a really funny looking one that pipes air from the back of the IC, underneath the support tube/ps cooling loop, directly into the oil cooler. That duct is sandwiched inby the belly pan.
