NICE job Joe. I'm happy to see the progress thus far and will look forward to It even more when I see that bad boy In person!
*laugh* on the spolier. It really Is a strange coincidence how the spoiler went back on your FC. I personally couldn't look past the Kamanari one I have.
I'd be Interested In seeing some pics of your duct work you mentioned previously. If they are to no avail than I'll see them In person.
I'm about 80% done on my FC, just so you know.

Well I'm back from 10 days away and over 6,000kms behind the wheel. As far as my car was concrened it ran absolutely flawlessly from the shop to Deal's Gap, through the dragon at 10psi, out of Tenesse down the rest of US129.........
Then I ran into a minor problem outside Trenton FL. Its a very small issue though, one thats exactly 2mm thick. I was passing a truck leisurely and dipped into boost a little bit. At about 6psi and 4,000rpm roughly 50% throttle I felt a minor hesitation/blip as i shifted up. Thought nothing of it and I spotted for Ian as he passed the truck. Further down the road I noticed the difference in EGT's front vs. rear and I let the car idle.
Found less vaccum at idle and that sickening lope only a blown or bridged engine should exude.
I contemplated every option being that I was 3,000 kms from home with a blown (but still running/idling) engine. Transport (expensive and takes too long) sellign the car to the closest and highest bidder (for about 0.0000000000002 seconds) or finding the closest shop with a brain and taking this thing out.
Ian hopped on the net at the hotel we parked at and found a nice list of shops in FL. Maztech in Tampa was about our closest option. The thread listed "Holton Automotive" (view info here: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...24#post8116424 ) but we found Maztech in Tampa to be much more fitting.
So, tuesday morning we drove the car from the hotel we towed it to down the street from Maztech, pulled the engine, had it torn down before we ate lunch, cleaned/clearanced and assembled by 4:30. Then we left and returned 7am wednesday and re-installed it. I was driving down I-4 to Daytona with Ian by 11:30am wednesday.
Can't say enough about the help we got from Jeff and Rocket at Maztech and for their accomidation/letting Ian and I use their shop.
So we continued onwards only having a minor issue with a ground for my electric fan popping a fuse. We could have still made the Keys if we booked it down the highways but we opted to leisurely make our way through the country taking only backroads from Daytona.
We cruised up the A1A along the coast as far as possible, rode a ferry in FL, drove some wild bridges in Georgia on 17, took 601 through SC, and did a WHACK of mountain driving in virginia, west virgina and PA. Tonnes of crazy roads up there.
I'm going to start uploading some of the choice pics in here and I'll youtube the video's shortly also.

IAN's 10thAE somewhere between in Georgia monday morning...
A sweet little photo shoot spot we found just south of the FL state line.
Just after "the incident" we're loading it onto a AAA truck and towing to Tampa.
Enroute to Tampa. This leg of the journey my car crushed Ian's in fuel economy
Here's where they slept in Tampa. From this viewpoint I realized while drinking my 4th (??) beer that I had no other option but to rebuild the engine. I was wearing a rotary sweater at the time and realized that there's no way this car will ever beat me...there was no way any rotary engine would at that point. I just had to fix it.

Shortly after arrival at Maztech we ripped into it hot and heavy. Rocket is on the left, Ian on the right. This was at about 10:00AM
Myself on the left, and owner Jeff on the right.
Its open, and still warm. Very little blow by past the ends of the side seals, very even combustion. Extremely well put together engine by Rotary Dynamics.
Me - "Wull, thar's yur problem rite thar!!!""
Engine re-stacked at 4:30pm the same day.
Here we are the following morning just leaving Maztech with both FC's.

Had to take a picture of this because its such a rare site. An FC at the gas station lol
A single lane mountain pass chip/tar road we found. It was the 738 through Jefferson National park.
Another 738 shot:
One more of the 738 to illustrate the steepness of this road.
Here's a great example of the roads we drove from FL to PA.

Here's the startup video of the rebuild at Maztech. Don't judge the sound just yet, this was with a massive vac leak and the throttle set screw cranked in so it wouldn't shut off....

Thanks for the comments!! I don't mind sinking in some bread when I'm getting something for my money, labour, sweat and blood. This year has given me more in return already then the past three combined

Thanks Ian!
Here is a video I made for Juiceh to show the sound of the beast while driving:

A shot of the road trip's aftermath:
And one more glamour shot for good measure
Now, this friday we'll be dyno'ing and tuning the car as BDC is coming up from Texas for a tuning week here. I fully expect to see over 400whp out of the setup so stay tuned for some dyno sheets and hopefully a non-eventful day

popped an apex seal on the front rotor. Chipped a corner of it where it meets the small corner piece.
No damage to the housing (luckily) and the rotor was also fine. Not sure exactly what happened, but I found some questionable things on the trailing coil (light corrosion on the T1 post) and also found my plugs are telling me my front rotor is lean.
I believe I'm rounding the corner on the issue though. One more plug reading before the dyno pulls will confirm if the lean condition is from my injectors or not as I've switched them front-rear.
EDIT: conditions it popped under were between 4-5Krpm, 6psi 50% throttle........water injection hadn't come on at that point either.
