"Rule #4: Late apex everything. it's worth the 10th of a second to keep living.
Rule #6: Read ahead. Look for elevation changes and signs for whats ahead."
Three very important rules to remember.
#4: It's virtually impossible to turn correctly without being able to see the exit first.
Turn in without apexing, then wait, wait, wait until you can see the exit. Then apex, and finish the turn, safely with proper line, every single time.
Every single corner without a hitch, it was one of the hardest things for me to learn on a sportbike, but it allows me to ride so much faster, with less stress!
#6: look out the side window of your car and teh light poles go by so fast! But the farther you look ahead the slower they seem to move until they are not moving at all! The same applies to touge, if you feel like you are going fast, just look farther ahead to slow down. It helps keep your cool and pick your lines more easily.
Remember you are only on street tires anyways, they don't have a lot of grip compared to any R-compound track tires.
Be safe guys!
I can't wait for Angeles Crest to be back opened.

Pics from last weekend
And then we went out again this week but no pics on the mountain, just us gettin gas... damnit, why do I always seem to get pics at gas stations where we're all fillin the fcs up.
... the wing on the grey one was a joke btw
I know I have sleepy eyes, so if ur gonna talk ****, at least be creative, instead of fifteen people thinkin they're original by sayin, "Oh yurr headlights are broken, haha! "

^^^ I will soon!!! So yeah, yesterday my *** turned twenty five, so me and my friends went out to the mountains, not necassarily racing, as supposed to drifting corners I bought myself some BBS vert wheels and painted em gunmetal... pics
From junkyard and washed
Painted gunmetal (Immediately didn't like and had to redo)
Finished and on
So anyways, bought these wheels to trash up tires alot cheaper. So anyways, we were at the usual corner when five 240s roll up! Yeah, 5, one of them was real sick too! Completely rebuilt, fast as **** sounding, completely gutted, roll bars, the whole works, and damn, could this guy drift! It was so much fun, all of us in row sliding thru these corners.... Felt like I was in an Option Video!! Great night, just gotta wait on my friend to give me the pics and videos (Same friend I'm still waiting on the touge video from, from two months ago!)

That's pretty much where I learned how to drift. Me and some friends would go down there like 4 times a week, with buckets. Looking back, I think it's kinda funny that I was driving from Parker to the springs that often for that road, which isn't all that good, haha.
me, circa 2003:
before that road got all ricerfied. I'm going to try and make it down there sometime this fall, hopefully have my FC running by the end of the month.
ahh, memories.

Haha, yeah, I've been driving down gold camp since 2000. I used to drive Hondas tho, and man, everyone hated me at Helen Hunt. I thought it was rediculous, I could slide that **** in my Honda just as good as most FRs. But they all just talked ****. But oh well, I do remember back in the day tho, I was sliding with these guys, and one of em was talkin to me and this was basically the convo. (Or what I remember it to be)
Guy- Damn, I've never seen anyone slide that corner like that with front wheel drive!
Me- I think its easier, you just let the car slide itself and use the gas to tell it where to go.
G- Well I'm the Captain of the Colo. Springs Drift Crew
M- cool!
G- I'd ask you to join, but we don't accept FF's, just real cars.... You ever think of switchin to RWD?
M- Probably, but I guess I'm just used to FF, I do mostly race in the dirt, and with FF, ur sideways most of the time anyways. Although I've always wanted an FC Rx7
G- Those are okay, but they always break down and are very unreliable.
M- Thats what I've heard, but IDK, saw this video of this red one and fell in love with that thing! If I ever switch it'll probably be for that.
What do you know! That all happened at Helen Hunt. Funny how things work out.

The corner is just a semi-wide hairpin. But there are parking spots on the outside of the corner and dirt parking spots on both sides of the bottom corner, giving you the ability to hit the corner alot of different ways. Even if you go super wide its only a 25-30mph corner. (Back when I'd slide my honda I'd enter that corner at 45 )
