(Not)Understanding "Savanna"

So this is my first post, take it eeeaaasy. I'm trying to understand what savanna means to the FC3S. I'm currently looking at an imported rx7 and it's advertised as a savanna but doesn't have the decals on rear left of the car, just has the standard mazda rx7 badge. So I was wondering if all japanese rx7s are savannas. I read some things saying that there were specific dealerships it had to be sold from for it to be a savanna and other things saying it was a package or saying ALL japanese rx7s were savannas. I'm sure there are people on here that know all kinds of stuff so any help would be appreciated. Also is there anywhere to do a chassis code check? I'd like to get as much info as possible for this car. Thanks everyone!

Apparently Mazda considers ALL RX-3s and all 1st and 2nd gen RX-7s Savannas.

I came to this conclusion reading the official Mazda english site.

In their history content they even mention the historic moment Savanna RX-7s got their 100th IMSA win.

Thats calling USA FC RX-7s "Savanna RX-7s" since IMSA is a USA based series.

I think saying "Savanna RX-7" is kinda like saying "Bitchin' Camaro" only oficially Mazda endorsed.

So it wouldn't be weird if i slap the "Savanna RX-7" decal on it if i end up with it? Just trying to learn as much as possible and all the misinformation out there makes it difficult.

If you're eyeing a Japanese FC, send me the VIN and I can tell you exactly what it is, original options, color codes, even the day it was built. Savanna RX-7 is the "proper" Japanese name for for both the SA22C/FB and FC3S. It goes back to the 70s and how the RX-3 was sold in Japan as the Savanna RX-3, to differentiate it from the Luce RX-4 and Cosmo RX-5. Everywhere else, they were known as just RX-3, RX-4 and RX-5 respectively.
