Heat is lukewarm

'88 RX7 convertible thats in really great shape 135K and she is my baby! It was chilly this morning and I turned on the heat and it was lukewarm even after driving a while. The temp gauge barely moved after driving many miles. Blower strong but not much heat. Checked Antifreeze level and its fine. New thermostat since July and the needle on the gauge has been right where it should be but today was first day I have turned the heat on. Wondering what to check next. Looking for advice and thanks in advance

Terri

The air mix motor on the side of the heater box may have an issue. With the car in the “on” position watch the motor while you have someone slide the temperature control **** from full cool to full heat. If the motor doesn’t move you can:
disconnect the linkage and rig it to stay in the heating position
replace the motor assembly
pull the assembly and try to find someone who can repair it
