PA I have no heat!

Hey guys,

As stated... NO heat! When I turn on the heat, all I get is cold air. And there is a small tapping noise when I turn on the vents, not sure if that's a normal thing for these cars. I live in Philly, PA and just picked this ride up a few weeks ago. It is getting cold here! Any suggestsion/solutions?

Since you just got the car make sure that the hoses are hooked up to the heater core. IF they are then it could be a bad logicon since its electronic or it could be in the door that opens and closes off the heat core.

sounds like the thermostat is stuck open... What does the temp gauge read? Is it always cold?

The temp gauge reads fine. Marker reaches a little under the medium point when warmed. I checked the coolant, seems to be filled fine.

Bleed the cooling system. It could just be a massive air pocket in the heater core.

Otherwise it's bad solder joints in the logicon, and/or a bad air mix motor.

Ok, I bleed the coolant with bubbles coming out. Did not work. I read a post on here that if you open the heater core passage way located in the dash on the driver side that you should be able to get heat. Was wondering if what was posted works and where do I see the heater core located inside the dash?

there is a small door on the interior.Located on the blower unit.If that isn't opening when you Switch the Logicon to heat, you won't get any heat.,I am sure you can do it By hand..(look into it,If that is your Problem) Cheers, Styx.

I can't seem to find the passage way to open up the heater blower. Are there any pics to show me what to look for?

Hey fellas,
I have heard that the logicon is a very faulty device in the 2nd generations. You need to resolder the circuit board.
Here's a great link I just found. I am on my way out to go do it right now.

I had the same problem all I did was to reset the heater and AC switch is located at the side of the fuse box under the steering wheel, somethings that switch get a short circuit and pops out. Good luck.
