I would be a little worried. Make sure to check for leaks and make sure your t-stat is opening. Then look into the radiator.

i don't think the stock gauge is that accurate -- i've been told its either at halfway which means you're fine -- or its at max which means you're screwed. but what i can tell you for sure is my rex here in new orleans is being subjected to 80-90s and doing fine even with a coolant leak, according to the temp gauge anyway

I live in Alabama, as long as your cooling sytem is doing its job, youll be OK. And if you plan on coming to the south and only getting 80 degree weather, you are in for a RUDE awakening. Our summers average 90-95, which with the humidity is HOT and sticky. Im from Biloxi originally, so I gew up in the heat and humidity...and I couldnt imagine living in any other climate! I love the southeast!

should be no prob....like mentioned above that's normal operating temp.....I've driven in 20degree weather and it's went to 1/2 way ( took a while though ) and it operates @ 1/2 on days like today ( 94 degrees according to weatherman ) As long as it doesn't go above that....if your worried check your thermostat and radiator, if all is ok...your good to go

1. get an aftermarket gauge
2. most poeple forget to mix the right amount of coolan with distilled water.
3. flush the damn thing once a year.
4. check thermostat and radiator cap.
5. check your timing
6. check your fan clutch

that sould be all, cars arenot supposed to overheat in 90 degreee weather

well, what year car do you have? it's always a good idea to replace things if you have the money and it will give you peace of mind. that being said no, you don't need to replace the radiator, the 86-88 thermostat was more acurate than the 89-91. as long as you are not over heating at all you won't over heat in pretty much any temp. i mean people in texas drive there rx-7's all summer and i don't think they have a problem even though it gets frekin 130 w/humidity sometimes

What year is your car? 86-88's should read at about 1/4-1/3 on the gauge when warmed up. 89-91's will read 1/2 no matter what...unless you overheat.

I have an 88, it use to run up to 3/4, I gutted the thermo and now itll only creep up 1/2 way. Itll run at 1/2 in the city, but on the freeway shell stay at exactly 1/4 like she should. I was thinking maybe my timings screwed up, but 2 months ago I took my car to the dealer to be diagnosed,(my base intake gasket was blown), and they said thats all that was wrong with my car. Oh, and RYDEORDIE, Im gonna be moving to Ft. Myers
