Exclamation legit number stamps
Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone can confirm if the A945 numbers on my 20b block look legit, or if they have been restamped.

I just find it weird the 9 is so much bigger and the numbers are not stamped straight ect.

Codeless Series 20B
Hello I am a newbie to the group. Anyone familiar with a codeless series 20B engine. Housings are not black and they just say 20B. The series was not "grind erased" either. I was told these were built after the D series to cover warranty failures. Didn't quite pass the "smell test" so thought I would validate via the forum. I am thinking it is must likely a Mazda rebuilt engine.

I have a factory remanufactured engine from Mazda with new housings that would have been an E-Series. It may be that the black was media blasted or chemically removed however.

From what I know, Mazda made these engines for a period of 5 yrs, 1000 engines in each series, starting from Series A thru E.
Internal oil modifications were continuously improved between the first and last production runs.
I also have a 20 B motor, it is stamped D421.
