Stock 20B coils?

How good are they? Since I have a front cut at my disposal I'm considering using them if they'll work well. It's not a save a few dollars on coils thing at all. The main reason is that they're in such a compact and convenient package. I plan on using a CDI box with whatever I go with so that should be part of the consideration as well.

Thoughts?

i think you could get the COILS to work, but the IGNITORS are pretty useless without the stock ecu

I haven't looked into it but I'm assuming I could use two three channel ignitors to fire the coils. Yes/No? If not then I won't even worry about them.

That's correct.
The 3 states are floating, ground (0VDC), and +12VDC.
This is how it switches to each 3 channels.
From our MoTeC owners, it looks like the MoTeC can do this - I can't confirm this myself.

i think so. coils connector is the same as the s5 afm, 4 pins, one is power, and then its just 1-2-3....

If you look at the ECU's closely. You will find the JC 13B-REW & JC 20B-REW ECU to be almost identical on the inside. The 20B ECU is basically a modified 2-rotor ECU with extra outputs for the 3rd rotor INJ plus soleniods etc.

IGN firing is thanks to the Ignitors. ECU gives a 2-rotor timing signal. Ignitors split that into a 3-rotor signal for the coils.

Coils are good for around 350kw but would be straining to provide adequate spark after that depending on boost pressure. Basically, If you are going to exceed 1.1 Bar of boost, I would be searching for a better coil option.
