Exedy d-core keeps slipping during highway pulls
Not sure if Im not warming up the clutch enough or it cant hold the power, but my exedy twin plate carbon keeps slipping during 4th gear pulls.
It did this on the dyno @ seven stock as well, it getting really annoying.
Might be a stupid question, but what ist eh proper way to warm up this type of clutch?
Thanks

I spoke to Evan @ Exedy USA about this when I was shopping for a clutch. They said that the clutch WILL NOT WARM UP FROM ENGINE/EXHAUST HEAT. The only way to warm the clutch up is by creating friction between the disks. On the road course it is not an issue because you are frequently shifting, but it doesn't work so well on the street.
FWIW I am going to sell a brand new Carbonetics carbon twin plate that you might be interested in. I went with the Carbonetics carbon twinplate over the Exedy because they use a very stiff pressure plate (for a twin disk) to get around cold friction coefficient problem on the street. It also happens to be about 3-5lbs lighter. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in my car because I moved the drivetrain 6.6" back into the narrow part of the transmission tunnel and the Carbonetics slave cylinder sticks out a little further than the stock unit. It's a non-issue if the gearbox is in the stock location.

Dang that really sucks, you must be making some jam to slip that clutch!
Ever consider an OS Giken? I had one and it gripped hard! Although I wasn't producing as much power as you probably are. Still a nice clutch.
