Scoot's 4-rotor
I just saw an interesting article in the May 2002 issue of Option 2 magazine. Japanese tuner Scoot is rebuilding their red "top speed challenge" car to accept a custom built 4 rotor. The interesting thing is, in order to get the 4-rotor to fit into the FD's engine bay, they're using 12A rotor housings and rotors! They're claiming the engine is roughly a 2.3 liter, not 2.4. I guess the 12A is slighlty under 1.2 liters.
I'd love to see the custom e-shaft they're using, but there were no pictures of that. My scanner just quit on me, so I can't scan the pics. Anyone feel up to it?

A 12A is 1146cc.
The only difference between a 13B and a 12A is 10mm wider rotors... times four means a 4-rotor on 12A parts is only 40mm shorter than 13B parts. I find it hard to believe that the engine would be THAT tight....

My Japanese is terrible. I am not able to read most of the article. They do, however, provide a number of illustrations and make a big deal about the length of the engine. I drew my own conclusions, but I could be wrong.
