^ Ted, I thought that he said that he's running the s5 n/a rotors. Unless you're answering the question from your point of view...

Yes, I am running 9.7 rotors, and 9.0 comes stock in the 20B.

woah you got on a working computer!? thats crazy. almost as crazy as jumping off of a canyon ramp in a truck and grabbing onto and airplane engine with a bionic arm and flying across said canyon to chase down a lexus driven by a hot robotic woman. almost that crazy.

No, its almost as crazy as pulling a speed limit sign out of the ground, and shoving it through a crazy cyborg, and then using your robotic arm to elbow off its head and gain a power recharge all at the same time. ALmost that crazy..........

So, does anyone realize how much I really want to do this engine swap now? I want to do it so bad that it makes me think I'm crazy. You know, crazy like sticking out your bionic arm to...

Ya know, just having a bionic arm is pretty damn crazy in itself!

Haha, yeah this motor swap and a bionic arm are both crazy nice. I was thinking of entering nexts year Ultimate Street Car Challenge, do you guys think that would be a good idea? I know I would fail so many tests, but I just want to show a rx-7 can be very reliable.

performance wise you'll be fine. the car show will hurt you unless you get an interior and take care of all of the random jank like the fenders or any other imperfections. the geek panel or whatever that is should be fine because im pretty sure no shortcuts were taken anywhere on the car. gas mileage you will beast at since you can run 89. they give ten extra points for doing 91 octane, i cant imagine what they'd do for 89 or 87 if you feel brave. gross display of horsepower should score you some points also. i forget the rest of the contests, but go for it.

I can easily run on 87 octane if I pull a few degrees of timming out of the upper ranges. Haahah, I would most likely be the first to do the USCC with 87!

I was looking at the USCC article again-

What it mentioned was that they awarded 10pts for any contestant willing to let them fill their cars with their 91 octane swill.

So they are letting the "street cars" run race gas? That does explain the 567RWHP Lancer Evo...

I didn't see mention of lower octane, but maybe it is available in the detailed rules- online?

Anyways, 87 octane would impress the hell out of them especially if you can pull 350RWHP out of it!

Lets get some NA rotaries in USCC to change the image of the rotary engine.

yeah, its the ultimate "street car" challenge. most of those cars get trailored to and from the event.

as far as this car standing a chance, IT DOESNT! IT SUCKS! how is this thread this long? haha

I dunno, this car would maybe do alright in the USCC if it was REALLY well prepped. Add a hit of nitrous and get around 430rwhp and you'd score mid-range points. There's other tests like base price and emissions where you'd get owned. In it's current state, this car wouldn't stand too great of a chance.

I think a fully built turbo 20B powered FD would have a chance just on the performance categories, someone's car like Red RX-7's. Anyways, cool car, it sounds mean as hell! Love that 3-rotor sound!

k one silly *** noob qeustion for you all to anwser, the P-Ports, i have no idea what truly are so i'm gonna give you what i think they are then you can correct me. Side based posts to allow more airflow and fuel into the engine therefore making more boom? pretty simple if i have it right but go as far indepth as you want to make sure i my qeustion if properly anwsered, i have a vauge self drawnup idea of P-Ports do but please don't be shy to correct me. You never learn if you never ask, thats what i always say, and do.

just think of the exhaust port setup on a non-renesis rotary. Then take that and apply the same design to the intake. Viola! P-ports!

Aight, do yo at least know how the exhaust port is set up on the rotor housing on a standard 13b? If not, here ya go:

This is the actual setup on this 3 rotor project found on page 1. What it does is go through the rotor housing on the periphery of the rotor arc (hence the name) and does the same job as a very large cam in a piston engine does: creates alot of intake-exhaust overlap. The smaller hole on the top is the intake and the bige oval on the bottom is the exhaust.

Most of the cars were running race gas and in particular the Evo you mentioned. I know first hand as I am good friends with Mark (gnx7) who entered his v8 3rd gen you saw in there.
Thinking of trying to enter my car in there for next year and show those piston boys whats up.
