Monsterbox's 20b FD3S Conversion
For the years I've owned my fd, every time I open my garage door a smile comes across my face. I'm barely getting stared on my 20b build and feel like I am spending a crap ton of money, BUT am excited for what the final result will be.
Mustangs....there was a reason why ford stopped producing rx7s after 95 before being taken back over from Mazda :-p
I did the exact same thing. Engine parts wise, I ended up selling everything I pre-bought because once I finally figured the direction I wanted to go, I knew then I needed to become my own fabricator/inventor/engineer/ect. Every case is different. Stay the course and, just push through.

The mind can play tricks on you, you must play tricks back.
For me it was quite a leap to have saved money for the past 6 years for this swap and then watch it all vanish instantly before the car was even complete. Each hang up seems like the end of the world, because you realize the financial waste if you can't make it through. At this point, you gotta say f*ck it and ride the storm lol!

I agree 100% I just need to keep pushing.
Lol I have some buddys with terminators and they say they miss their fd's. I just get tired of the money pooring out my as*.
As far as a 1000hp it definitely wont be this motor but 600-800 will be ok
I wish someone local had a 20b that i could drool over and kick start the motivation train.
MORE VIDEOS GUYS hehe. so I can daydream
As for a 4 rotor.. I sold my 4 rotor last winter because I honestly like the sound of 20b's more and the way they look in the engine bay...... yes yes I know i must be weird or something

Once your installed Make sure you have the firing order setup 1-2-3 in the software, the basemap was incorrect initially. You'll see this under "period angel offsets" you want to see 0, 120, -120
Keep an eye out on those +12 and +12 switched wires, they can be a little confusing, label them and seperate them before you put the ECU in the car. Some of the reds are +5 and others are +12, it may be hard to tell the difference later on.
Also, the middle rotor ignition trailing or leading, can't remember which, is brown/grey or orange/grey. When you look at the wire is may change colors slightly going from brown/grey to orange/grey later on in the length. Make sure you look at the actual pin on the ECU for this one to ensure you have the correct wire.

Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting for a tune
its 'ready to eat the street.
Ray Wilson from PFS was to come tune the car in late Feb, but I haven't had confirmation yet.
If anyone has suggestions for a tuner that may be within 8hrs of driving from Birmingham, shoot here!
Jesus from Kilo is about 8 hrs from me!
Updates:
- primary fuel pump has been whinning after around 2hrs of run time. I think it is overheating, and the FP begins to bounce. Fairly certain it may be worn out from running the tank dry at first startup a few months back. Replacing with a new Walbro 400 this week.
- Ordering maxxis RC-1 275mm 17'' tires for the rear
- Taking the spare mipipe, chopping it up and installing a down-turn tip to dump exhaust under car open pipe
Stay tuned for some vids this should be nasty.
Other than that, not much else left. I could post a few boring crusing videos, but its more fun to wait for the real deal!
Thanks!

I'm no help on this part because im NA. My crankcase doesn't pressureize as much as you guys. I run the fd pvc off the upper oil fil neck to my throttle body and leave the iron port plugged.
Edit: I just checked and my iron port is vented to atmophere. I need to cap it otherwise the pvc isn't doing its job.

My buddy has one with around 750rwhp and I can't wait to kick that things ***. Everyone has one down here in "bama.
