If you're asking this question then I'm 99% sure you can't afford it.

If you could afford a 20b, you'd have a FD and plenty of money to make that 13b bigger and better.

Hi Justin, i am in process to put 20B in FD. (also i live in Canada)
In my life i put a lot of "V8" engine in small body (Pinto,Chevette and all this small car) (now i am 44 years old).
This type of FD 3 rotor project need a lot of money and work, more like you thing.
It's not possible to put 3rotor in FD with $12.000 CAN.
It's more like $16.000CAN if you put single,Microtech, and you make headers, turbo pipe and subframe mod.
And at this price is with stock engine port and you need tig welding machine.

What you are asking is a loaded question meaning, if you are asking how much it will cost to simply physically install a motor OR if you're asking to turn your car into a professionally built engine-conversion with all the extras that will make it fun, safe to drive, etc...

Simply dropping motor into car with engine mounts... $500

Professional to put in FMIC, wire up EMS, tune EMS, install suspension, buy suspension, radiator, fuel system, intercooler piping, exhaust, turbo (single), wastegate, etc, etc, etc.
- $35-50K USD. I don't know what that is canadian. Probably about $70K.

Kid, just spend your money on an education and invest into a house, a family, etc. It's just a car that you can make really fast after you've gone through your life and appreciated it.

This is already a topic that has been exhaustively covered. Those of us that have gone through it....please listen to us. It's not cheap ($10K USD) so people saying that haven't done it themselves or are doing it absolutely ghetto...so STFU...please. It costs a lot of money. You are much better off to drop in a cheap carb-powered 350 Chev and be happy. You will do a lot quicker, cheaper, and without all the heartache. But by all means, if you want to spend the next 2-7 years of your life on a car of all things... go ahead.

Both Pettit and MVA quoted about $48,000 CAD for the conversion as per their specs (which are better than a ghetto setup). PFS quoted $57,000 CAD for their conversion in the Car and Driver article. Since this is a custom conversion, you will need to speak to a performance shop on your own for an accurate quote for a 20B swap made to your specifications.

actually you are much better off dropping in an LS1 from a 1998+camaro/firebird that has big power yet is very lightweght and is small in size plus the benefits of computer controlled fuel injection and easy tuning by its re-writable engine computer. besides doing some wiring then beefing up the fuel and cooling systems it is a "drop in swap" when using a mount kit from www.hinsonsupercars.com or www.grannysspeedshop.com
