Finally 20B de-virginized...

Just got done porting, rebuilding, and getting a 20B started and running here with Reese LeBlanc in Columbia, SC. This 10th Anniv is running an E11 as well. We finally got it fired up tonight after a hell of a good couple-hours long fight. Tomorrow the goal is to finer tune the fuel map, get the timing zero'd out, get the brakes bled, and see about getting it on the road in basic form.

This is one hell of an engine. I can't wait to get one of my own. Where have they been all of my life and why am I still fussing with this 2-rotor stuff?

I'll be posting up some pictures of the porting and the rebuild in a few days.

God I'm tired... Heh. After a couple of nights working on the car until 4am and then until 1am last night, work is going to suck today! The worst part is that I know there's a freshly built 20B in my garage right now! LOL

B, I assume you're going to goof with the maps before I get home?

On another note, somehow I was a bit suprised at the increase in volume due to the sleeve swap and porting. Methinks it's going to be cool as hell, but my neighbors might not agree. Tonight we put miles on it! Yay!

Nope. Simple streetport. I won't be ablet o go single for a while, so a halfie would overrun my turbos. I had thought about it though!

Right now we're experiencing minor issues getting things set up.

ah, stock turbos. yeah my old half bridge overpowered my stock t2 turbo. so id imagine with twins it would do more harm than good. good luck getting it figured out.

Thanks. We need to actually make it RUN first. Got it started and went for a drive tonight. Spent the last two hours stuck at a gas station unable to make the car start... :sigh: Wake up for work in 4.5 hours... Hopefully it'll run by tomorrow night.

Yep, the last post tells it all. Hopefully tomorrow will bring better, much-needed results. Wish us luck.

True, but I found out (AFTER Deals Gap last year) why I was having problems then. At some point, water had corroded the main plug that runs into the Haltech. There were four pins that had intermittent connections at best. I got a new set of pins and housing from Haltech and haven't had that problem since.

What I'm experiencing now other than this issue B is talking about is that once in a while the ECU will stop trying to start the car. When this happens, I can usually reset it by unplugging both ECU plugs and plugging them back in. It almost seems like sometimes it doesn't fully turn off or something. Rewiring the current power and switched sources might not be a bad idea.

I'm going to re-wire the switched power directly off of the ignition rrelay harness. I have no idea whee it's currently coming from but hopefully this will work. Hasn't started yet today even with the new Build 29 firmware. Waiting for my friend HITman to send me a base map to try. Plugs were fouled to death, too.

And the beat goes on... this is my last night here before I head home. Wish us luck, guys.
