Very nice build. How much money do you have into the 20B (in stock form), subframe and ECU alone?

Give you an idea so far:
Knackered Cosmo with 20B £3,000
Mircotech ECU £720
Subframe £1,200
Dampers £2,000
Bushes £420

£7,340 +$10,200 in current market!!!
Plus all the other bits on the car

Thanks McCarthy, just getting an overall feel for what I'll be spending on an N/A 3 rotor build.

Please don't over look things like clutch, N/A rotors, carbon tips etc

Well, the clutch is taken care of at least...

I don't plan on even beginning the project for another year or so, I've got plenty of time to study up. But, instead of using S4/S5 9.7:1 rotors, why not use the lighter/cheaper RX-8 10:1 rotors? And I notice you mention carbon apex seals, what's wrong with OE Mazda seals? I'm not shooting for any more than 380rwhp.

Nothing wrong with stock seals at all. I'm just running carbon ones in mine.

Not been able to get on this much as i have been busy with customer cars. Any way in house built centre silencer (pretty much the same our normal FD one). Also a mock up of the rear twin system.

Looks good, I like "dolphin tail" exhausts. Is that going to clear the stock rear diffuser?

The Stock black rubber lip on the back has been chucked. Will hopefully be using new prototype Knightsports diffuser. I have had measurements from them so hopefully yes it will work

Yes in the long run it will be turbo'd. Lots more to do yet before i start thinking about that. All the supporting bits will be going on first, throttle bodies, fueling etc etc.

New design for the rear section of the exhaust system. In the UK we have stupid low noise restrictions on alot of our tracks. This is another attempt to make the system more quiet. Its a dual centre exit section that will sit above the centre section of the RE-A diffuser in the number plate recess. Trial and error for flow vs volume

Love the headers.

Yes foam filled fuel cell is going in the boot. Its the only way to do a dual system and keeping equak flow either side.

Nice project. Glad to see another 20B FD being built in the UK. What kind of numbers are you expecting whilst it's NA?

Well depends on the build and what way i go with it. Will happily make into the 300's at the wheels. But i'm still tempted to Peripheral port the beast. Then well high 400's. Still undesided weather Full on N/A high comp rotors etc etc or turbo.

I keep seeing vids of N/a racers which sound stunning. But the i love chattering wastegates tis a hard one.

I'm down kent way quiet alot i have friends in BlueBell hill just off the A229 near maidstone. Will be down that way alot when she is running

There are a few FDs in the area. I'm sure we can arrange a mini-meet. Also don't forget that Lyden Hill race track is just outside Canterbury if you want to give the car some "exercise".

Still awaiting delivery and FULL specs but the unit is a Garrett GT45. Very simialr to the GT42R but a little larger. Will make a nice amount of power/torque on a LARGE street ported 20B.

Will do away with the Stock upper and lower inlet manifolds and start on some custom ones with Single large throttle body, what size is to be astablished yet, in another effort to get better torque figures.

Base design for the plenum chamber. Not much to look at but give you an idea. On the front will be a moderate 100mm throttle body made from billet ally. That hole isn't 100mm haven't cut the proper one yet.

Few of it "in the making".
