Here are 2 short videos of it starting and at idle. I still have to do a lot of tuning work (note the AFRs and the backfire), but things are progressing.

I was gonna say that engine management looks real familair ( I've worked with pechtel on our hot rod cobalt ) then I read the notes on the vid. Pechtel is awesome but tend to over complicate, and watch out for that heat sensor in the ecu!!!

Which Pectel model are you using? I certainly will be putting it to the test as I am using virtually every channel on it, including the inductive ignition drivers! I really like the software. I don't think anything is overly complicated, but the level of detail that it gives you control over is a bit overwhelming. They going to release a new software setup shortly. I've seen screen shots of it. It looks like Motec V3 on steroiods.

I'm curious about the temp sensor problem. Please fill me in. I haven't heard about any problems with it and I know of a bunch of cars and motorcycles running it.

Best,

-Chris

Just watch out for all of the sudden it won't sync up with the crank angle sensor any no spark. We were beating our heads into the wall so we sent it back to gm. Turns out the internal temp sensor was reading way hot and completely shuts down the system. What made you chose pechtel? We ran it because it's what gm motorsports gave us but they recently switched to fast. I'm sure you'll be fine it's just something to remember if that ever happens.

Are/were you using an SQ6? I've never heard of anyone else having that problem. I'll run it by the hardware engineer the next time I speak to him.

The other option I considered was the M800. The Pectel is more advanced.

Thanks Abel. That means a lot coming from you. The videos I've seen of your 3-Rotor drag car when it first came out inspired a lot of this. In my opinion there are only a handful of people in this industry that have enough experience to really know where the limits are and I think you are one of them.

We spoke a few weeks ago on the phone about your stud kit project. It sounds very impressive. Please keep us posted.

Best Home mod to date...I added central heat and air to my garage. Although the concrete floor still gets cold as all hell.

Thanks for the reply

Couple of the SCCA Prod racers I know put heat in the garage floors a couple years back.
One was pouring a slab for a new garage, and put a plethora of large PVC water pipes all through it in a grid to circulate hot water in the floor.

Another one pulled out the concrete saw, and a jack hammer, and cut a large swath of deep cuts in the slab, and did the water plumbing thing. Then cemented over it, increasing the floor thickness a few inches along the way.

The following winter they were able to work on thier cars all winter. They lived in scary cold places Floridians like me cant understand.

I want to put damn Ice rink cooling gear in my garage floor.

Guys, I just got to drive this car, and I must say I'm in love with the exhaust note. The conversion is worth it just for the SOUND. When this thing fires up, it just sounds plain nasty.....it's still on breakin, and even off boost the torque is impressive. Hell, this thing feels torquier at 1500 rpm then my FD does at 4000 rpms! Simply nuts.

Glad you like it Rich. Thanks for the updated headlights lenses. They look really nice.

The intercooler should arrive this week. Then it is just a matter of fabricating the piping and racking up the break in miles before the real fun begins! Here is an exterior shot I took of it when I was in NJ.

Here are two short teaser videos I took on the way home tonight. The battery died during the tunnel video so it got cut off just when things started to get interesting. I am still breaking the motor in and setting up the fuel maps, so I didn't go past 1/3rd throttle or 4000rpms. The mic on the camera really takes the edge off of the engine sound. In person the engine is easily as loud or louder than the turbo.
