^That would definitely be the way to go if he would agree to take on your engine rebuild. From what I understand he shies away from "street" rebuilds. Maybe Chris could help you talk him into it. At a minimum, maybe he'll dynamically balance the rotating assembly for you.

Chris, I'm very impressed with the quality of the build and your attention to detail. I'll look forward to seeing the dyno charts soon. Any idea what you are estimating for WHP?

It is going to be awhile before it is dynoed. The next step is to finish re-assembling the car so I can put it on the road and do the preliminary tuning. That alone will take weeks and the next two have been booked by my girlfriend :/ . As far as power goes, I want a number with a 6 handle on it at a reasonable RPM. Any additional power I would gladly trade for more response and reliability as I think traction will be the limiting factor.

Congrats.

Major Update !

The bigass turbo spins for approx 52 seconds after shutdown at an 800 rpm idle.

The car sounds MEAN in person, the vids don't do it justice.

Here are 2 short videos of it starting and at idle. I still have to do a lot of tuning work (note the AFRs and the backfire), but things are progressing.

Sounds sooo sweet. Coolest noise ever next to a 4 rotor tagging the rev limiter.

Sure -4" 321 ss front to back, with two long oval Magnaflow 'Race' resonators. I like how it sounds. I had a similar setup on my 2 rotor with 3.5" tubing.

so i'm reading no silencers, cats, or resonators?

Thanks guys. I will try to post some photos of the exhaust. There are two oval straight through resonators in series and that's it -No other cats or other mufflers of any kind. Each resonator is 14" long I believe. The first one is positioned roughly where the stock cat was located. The second is in the stock catback muffler location. The tip is not flared; it's 4", so it looks relatively OEM -ish.

excellent, thanks!

already have the resonator installed, so hopefully running these in parallel would also work out.

i will have some sound clips up when i can!

I've been trying to figure out a resonator, and was going to go with the Magnaflow (round instead of oval) but I heard that the Mangaflow's wont hold up under the heat, even the "race" ones. Any thoughts?
They're only like $115 from Summit, so its not bad if it doesn't hold up. I think it'll be fine though, its just the Fab to swap it out thats the pain in the ***.

I used magnaflow resonators. I also used them on my 2 rotor and they held up fine for about 10,000 miles at which point I parted out the car. They are supposed to sound a little throatier than the Borla mufflers. That's why I picked them.

That's weird. I have heard Borla and Magnaflow in person and find Borla makes a much deeper noise.

Magnaflow is however like 1/2 the price.

I have the Magnaflow on mine (one in the midpipe, from rx7store.net) and it sounds great combined with my muffler. The Borlas are nice too (my buddy has one as a midpipe on his car) but I went the 1/2 price route.
