another 20B question for ya...

Ok, lets just say for the sake of it that I want to put a 20BTT in my FD. I am going to have to replace the entire front wiring harness (goes from the ECU, through the nose of the car, and back to the fuse panel) due to some extensive damage.

If I were to buy the 20B, stock 20B ECU, could I buy a wiring harness designed for a 20B and adapt that into the FD? Could that possibly eliminate the other engine management problems that are part of the conversion?

This is just PURE speculation since I doubt I will have the money when that time comes so please keep the flames low.

Why not post this in the 20B forum. You could try searching that forum first. There is probably info on it in there.

"It's your swap. You can do any damn thing you want"

99% of the time, when you do an engine swap, you don't buy wiring harnesses. You make them.

NO.&nbsp The stock Cosmo ECU integrates the stock automatic transmission into it.&nbsp Unless you FOOL the stock ECU into thinking the stock automatic transmission is back there, it's going to check and fail-safe on you.&nbsp This also implies you're going to run the stock ignition coils?&nbsp These are very hard to get, as the are not attached to the engine - they are mounted on the left-side fender areas.&nbsp The harness that runs to the coils is not attached to the main wiring harness.&nbsp This is all possible if you got a Cosmo 20B front cut, but I have never heard anyone being able to pull this off...

There was a NZ guy who said he had gotten a 20b conversion to work with the stock ecu, but I have no idea how, and I don't think he posted how..

they do have some fix for the ecu down under. i would suggest e mailng the guy(s) at www.3rotor.com
the problem with the wiring harness is that there is only 1 harness. they only have the harness to put the 20b in the cosmo, anything else will have to be custom.
the cosmo harness does fit in an fc.
by doing the swap this way you will still have headaches with the ems, but they will be different than everyone elses.

Check with Corksport for reprogram so stock ECU ignores auto trans.
