Its funny you say that, I missed a killer deal on a snap on hydraulic hoist recently but the old harbor freight does the job.
Yea im still pushing on i only need the following and its done
Go through the motor, build a intercooler, engine management, bov, fuel rails and trigger kit and some more fabrication.
Im still $10k away but I should be able to get it done in the next 6 months

Just 10k away lucky!!!! lol.

Yeah I completely understand. I found my 20b has 60psi on all faces and NOT 110-115psi as stated on my receipt .

Now I'll have to plan for rebuild .

I'm interested to see how your intercooler set-up will come out (another member Phil had an amazing set-up on his 20b fd).

How did you test compression? And what rpm?

I plan on a 4" or 4.5" core all custom. I will be working on it soon.

Installed the custome speedhut gauges and I must say they are amazing. Quality is amazing and they match the stock gauges perfectly

Got my Garrett 18x12x4.5 intercooler core with end tanks today. Should be plenty.

Little over 500$ for everything from himni racing. I shopped all around and they sell the garrett cores for the best price.

Not bad. So quick research shows it can handle up to 600hp.

As I'm not trying to exceed that with my build I will closely follow your fabrication!

Looking forward to the progress!

If you go find garrets actual chart for intercooler sizes if says different. Information changes frome site to site.
On my 13brew i was running 500hp on a 18x12x3 with no issues but it did hurt overall flow of boost because of its size.

Sweet! Thanks for the video! Sounds amazing. What does your exhaust consist of?
I personally like the 20b's more than the 4 rotors

Update:
Subframe is done and now off to the sand blaster.
I decided to run a single 60mm wastegate which should be plenty to control low boost settings as long as i place it properly.
I will keep the updates coming.

Took a break and picked up this 2004 rx8. Reman motor, automatic and completely flawless. I paid $600. It was a repo and the dealer didnt want to deal with it. Such a steal.

Liking the custom manifold. It seems an inevitable route due to the lack of built options out there.

With some people placing their turbos so far forward, what reasoning did you have for bringing yours back? I imagine easier to keep tubing in the direction of equal length, but then space and heat closer to the intake.

My build is a vmount setup. There is no way this turbo fits otherwise. Plus i have always placed my turbos high in the past, it really looks good.

Looks great. I really want to know about your mount kit. I have a 20b and will be running a t56. With my 13b now, the stock t4
56 shifter location sits far up. If I mount the 20b like yours, the shifter hole might line up perfectly.

Its all custom built for my setup. I think the make shifter kits for the t56 that will move it back and save you the hassle

Can't wait to see this thing run! Totally insane. so clean. Fitment of the turbine housing behind that shock tower mount is spot on. This engine is just too mental.

Building a 20b is one of those things were you get so caught up in the work and details that the brain sometimes stops remembering its a monster that's being constructed. When this thing runs your mind and everyone else's mind is going to fall right out of the head.

Ha ha i hope so!

Update: ordered EVERYTHING else needed to complete the car.
I willl be running a aem infinity 6. Im pretty sure this will be the first fd running this setup.
Picked up ffe rails 2kw starter, turbosmart bov and fpr. Bought some aftermarket suspenson links and arms.
I pulled the car out today pulled the whole rear subframe out and pressure washed the rear wells and underside of the car.
Stripped all the molding off and now to put the suspension with new bushings back in along with the tein monoflex suspension and she is off to paint.
