20B-REW on the dyno
Finally got around to getting the Cosmo on the dyno last weekend. (11 JUN) After installing a Blitz SBC Spec-R boost controller to fix some boost issues on the turbo's. A few power runs where done to 6000, 6500, 7000 rpm.
As the power appeared to keep climbing on all three runs, a 4th was done to around 7200rpm where the power started to come back down. THis way, we know the peak power point is around 6700rpm. For those that want to know, even well under 1-Bar boost the twin turbo flow will max out on the 20B-REW. As explained by the Rotary shop owner, this flow issue can be seen in the gradual drop in boost despite the controller trying to maintain it. Boost was set to max out at 0.85-Bar

Good things about all this power is the massive torque that comes with 3-rotors of grunt. I love the way the power graph is almost vertical after the 2nd turbo comes on-line............ Cool
This should give you guys an idea of what a mildly modified 20B in its genuine home is capable of. Thus giving you all a bench mark. The mods are pretty basic.......

Here's another one for you also in its original home a Cosmo.
Stock ports for now but single turbo and other mods. Printout isn't very good sorry.

Also, RE-Amemiya stated on their web site (several years ago now) that by using their Redom Mini ECU & holding to 0.9-Bar of boost with high flow modifications. The turbo's will flow to 330 kW.
Taking into account auto gearbox loses etc, I think this engine is around that mark....??
**** Kev. I think my Cosmo goes well enough. Yours being 240kW up on mine must be a pretty serious weapon..........WOW. Hope that big single doesn't make the engine too laggy!!

No lag to speak of Dave she on boost at 3000rpm. Powers down on what it will be as i'm running a bit rich and have pulled some timing at the moment while i get the water injection just right. Then all being well i'll pull it all down at the yearend and give it some serious porting so i'm expecting a lot more this time next year.

It's not always about the ports, it's the engines air flow from it's larger displacement (extra rotor) that need the added air flow. These twins are about the same size as the Fd twins but yet have to feed more engine. Imagine putting a set-up these same twins on a 8.0L Viper engine. The turbo's would probably max out at 3k rpms verses an engine half it's displacemt size.

That's pretty compressive to get 227kw at the wheels while still strapped to an automatic. According to the android ConvertPad app, that's 308 SAE HP at the wheels. Assuming 30% drivetrain loss since it's an automatic, we get 440hp at the crank. Just shy of 50% more power with basic items that anyone would already consider doing.
This really puts it in perspective how incredible a 20B-REW really is. Considering that my build will be done very similarly to this one, but using a Haltech PS2K and a vastly simplified sequential setup, it really make me wonder what'll happen on the dyno. I bet all the single turbo guys would **** bricks if it broke 500hp at the crank (425 at the wheels).
This really puts it in perspective how incredible a 20B-REW really is. Had an quick questions...
I'm looking for a JDM Swap to go with. My friends keep trying to push the LS conversion people are doing, but i'm really interested in the 20B, 20B-REW, or just saying forget all the hassle and go supra...can someone help me out by giving a breakdown of each...also will the 6spd transmission work on the 20B/20B-REW motors or will i need to make some modifications...please help...

Daily driver
not the car is not a daily driver, i didn't build it to be a daily driver. What i mean by that is i have a 4 inch exhaust so its a little bit noisy. The clutch currently that i found to handle that much power is on or off, but it really works great, with the new T56 magnum should definitely be more drivable since their much better clutch technology now than back when i started the car. I going with a 3 disk carbon clutch that will be much more forgiving on the street use. But the car is very streetable even more so when the t56 is on it.

thank you but that is just the appetizer, im going back after im finish with the transmission swap and go for the 1000hp + to the wheels. We stop at those number because i was afraid that the stock transmission will explode and also i was running the injectors at 85% duty cycle. so i got bigger injectors and transmission swap plus change differential and axles to handle the power.

cost not yet determined because still finishing up all parts. it would be a drop in kit basically bolt on so shouldn't be that difficult to install. I will keep you posted with any news.
