20B first start video

Hello guys!

Another 20B build has finaly come to live. I have been working on the car as a side project for some years and now it is finaly started. Here is a video on the first start attempt. Some tuning to come before registration of the 20B in the car and then single setup to be mounted. http://vimeo.com/43428200

Did a fast job and built a single turbo kit in one day including making a manifold. Here are some pics and a video, did some tuning on the way to the track, Only 8psi boost in the video.

Im thinking of a Precision 7275 CEA turbo for next summer but the question, will the gearbox survive?

What do you have at the top of the water pump housing connected to the upper radiator hose? Looks like a factoryish plastic? piece, but not from an FD? I'm looking at the horizontal black piece.

Great looking car.

The thermostat housing is custom made in a 5-axis CNC machine, then anodised black. I was not able to close the hood with the stock 20B housing so it had to be done to keep the 20B waterpump. For the reference, LIM is lowered 70mm.

I recently bought a dyno for my workshop and took the 20B to test it. 501Hp at the wheels, 554Hp / 588Nm at the flywheel and over 550Nm between 4500-7500rpm. Maximum power at 7100rpm. 12psi midrange and 10psi at peak power rpm. I was not able to keep boost at 12psi over 5500rpm even with wastegate fully closed over 5500rpm. Bigger turbo needed!

NICE CAR! sounds good!
Can we get more info on the build. Stock trans?, stock sub frame? Did you move the engine back at all?

THe trans might survive at that hp level if you don't do hard shifts and launches. But only time will tell. I plan on running stock trans and possibility having liberty do their thing to the internals.

Thanks! Might go there but not for driving. Gatebil has to many drivers drifting on the grass around the track pushing stones to the track. Its not fun at all to get all those stones in the front or on the windscreen on your car. But I will take it to some other trackdys.

Turbo installed and tested. I got 0.8 bar (spring pressure) before 4000rpm on the test run. Will be interesting on the dyno later on.

Now shes been on the dyno again. I still havnt change exhaust so 3" midpipe and Catback. Boost is 15Psi.
Graph shows engine HP, lower graph is loss, so 696 engine HP och 640 Whp.

Some pics at the car:

What subframe did you use and are you still using the FD gearbox?

I use stock 99-spec gearbox and have modified the subframe and the steering rack connections.
