20b engine size and engine number location
Can any of you guys tell me what your 20b engine is listed as engine size wise on your logbook. May well be different to the UK but want a starting point as I need to register my engine swap soon. Also where is the engine number located. I cannot seem to find one? I presume it is not the short A B or C number.
Thank you

The number is either 100-999, a100-999 and so on. It can be found on the front iron under the alternator or on the housings located near the mazda 20b logo. The mazda 20b logo is your engine size. Very rarely will you see a tag like you do on all renesis engines.
Hope this helps

Most likely they will be looking for the E******* number on the front iron, below the lifting ear.
We have many international customers and the rules change for each country. Most recently we had to replace a front iron with a new unstamped one for a customer in Argentina so that he could stamp his original engine number on the new engine.
You can make it out on this TII engine.
Here is another pic I just found

Perfect guys thanks for the reply..
I think here it will be twice the CC to.. but I know some people have 13B engines with just the regular CC on the logbook. I think it depends if they are UK cars or import!
Can someone confirm the exact 20B CC please as listed on paperwork and then I can take it from there.
Regards

Okay.. So I had a look at my 20B block today and found the following:
102167
No sign of any letter in front of it at all. That said the 1 at the start could possibly be an L as it is stamped a bit harder than the rest and doesn't quite look like a 1.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

there is also the B274 visible, which would be the engine number.
if we could run the vin with Mazda Japan, the 102167 should correspond to the engine number listed on the build sheet. it may even go with the vin, as the JC Cosmo vin's were in the 101xxx range (JCES-102167)

Thank you guys I will go with a "1". I presume there is no way to verify the engine number alone? It's in my FD and I have no idea about the original car!
