WOW, where do i start. I have not abandoned the project but have not been working on it at all this summer short of a couple hours every 2-3 months.

I have been working to find a machine shop to cut my intake manifold (using that as an excuse for now)

Seems odd, i lowered the car from the sky (on the lift) and cleaned up all the **** around it and started working on it yesterday. Tonight i am finishing the body work on the quarter (shaved the fuel door and side marker light)

I thought i would jump on the old rx7club.com site and could not believe that my original thread was almost at the top again. My email address had changed so i have not been getting any updates.

I will take some pics next week (once a little forward progress is made)

I would like more than anybody to have this project finished by summer but will make no such predictions right now. I will say that this project is long over due and i am going to at least try.

Does anybody want a complete 20B engine built with custom hogans intake and morosso oil pan? Motor is completely built with new parts and fully polished. I am going to ask $9000 since i have over $5500 in the intake and oil pan!

The motor was built by headway performance in NJ with race ports and pinned for strength.

Any way, thanks for the interest, i will try to post some pics and progress soon...

No, i am not scraping the 20b route. I have a brand new 2nd motor sitting in my storage closet built by rotary extreme in Australlia (full race, the best of the best) ready to go in and i don't want to have 2 different motors which require different maps. if i toss one, i would rather wait to get it fixed than put in a second motor and have to re-tune the computer.

The rotary extreme motor has low compression rotors with 3mm ceramic seals, the rotary extreme 2 piece chromoly sentric shaft, complete rotary extreme stud kit, all new housings and irons, etc.

They built the motor from the parts book, all new mazda parts or their own custom parts.

Hope it was worth the $24k spent on it.

Even my trailer got ordered, built and delivered over a year ago anticipating the car would be ready by now. Not a trailer queen, just a way of getting it around incase it breaks at the track.

I bought all 3 new rotor housings and had them polished and installed when the engine was built.

I never paid attention to the number the engine was before it went to headway performance and did not get back the original rotor housings although i should have!

Is there any other way to tell what code it is?

ALL of the sideplates, like the original rotor housings should be stamped with the same number..

Also are those 20B housings or 13B?

both intermediate iron housings are stamped 255 (is that a good series?)

I can't find the stamp on the front and i replaced the rear due to cracked transmission bolt mounting ear!

Deffinately i replaced all the rotor housings with brand new 13b housings for strength and larger exhaust ports!

I was in hopes that it would have been a C or D code block... I will need to check with him as he made it very clear that he wanted C or D only.....****...

Actually they were scarce when i ordered my motor in March 2006 but i did not know they were out.

I received it in July 2006 and was seriously considering having him build me a spare just incase the following year (this past summer) but never did due to lack of progress on the car. I sure wish i had now.

What parts is he missing to make a complete engine? I have a spare thick intermediate i have been hiding new in the box which i am not willing to part with as long as i am running the 3-rotor.

Me too! Yea thats all he needs + a shaft which he builds there if you dont have a spare one. Everything else can be 13b parts.

I also heard the front balance weight is no longer available new and he needed them to put together the complete rotating assembly.

I guess i should have mentioned this but i am not interested or willing to sell my thick intermediate housing as long as i am running a 3-rotor.

I am sure everyone understands that.

Hey mate dont worry he now machines billet front and rear counter weights so that is not a problem, hell he is even developing his own centre thick plate so soon the 20b wont be a parts issue like in the past

cheers

Not many updates.

I am however hoping the intake will be done within the next 4-6 weeks.

No, the motor was never listed on ebay. I am selling my first motor i had built and listed it here in the classifieds section if anyone is interested. Completely built 20b with custom made intake and aluminum oil pan complete.

I would never sell my motor i got from Rotary Extreme.

If and when i get my cnc billet intake going, i will post some pics.

That will be great to see what it will look like .
Also can you duplicate the trany mount you made for your set up?
Will like to purchase one if you up to making one for a fellow 3 rotor head.
