Yeah, thought that was the same car. That was one of the FD's I was looking at before I bought mine. I remember the Sherrif's tag, hahaha. His son was an officer I believe. Very nice house. I'm wondering what condition you found the tranny to be in when you bought it.

The trans seems perfect. The clutch was original and not burnt at all.

What makes you ask?

Ryan, I would be honored. That would be awesome as well as give me the much needed motivation to get the car finished a little quicker!

Question, Why did you use a divided exhaust manifold flange? Are you not worried about the 3 exhaust pulses trying to be split the divide, it would be okay on a 13B

I was told by 2-major turbo builders that their is little difference between the divided and undivided housings. I am running the 3-primary tubes into a collector, unlike a 2-rotor setup where the 2-primaries are run side by side into the flange. The only way it could be beter is if the turbo was divided into 3-chambers! That would be awesome.

Check out this 14" front kit installed.
The calipers were painted 3 stage CYM to match the car.
Brembo painted them somehow in such a way as to withstand the heat! Don't know how...

I have a matching 12.9" rear set to go on as well..

You are the new current envy of myself and the rest of the forum
Good work! Great pics!
What type of porting will the engine receive, a wild streetport or possibly even a bridge?

$24,500

It will have a race port, the same as run in Carlos Montano's motor.

Ramone from Headway uses a flowbench to make sure all housings flow an even amount during the porting process. This is very critical on a rotary engine making big power!

There is quite a debate whether or not flowbench testing with rotories is beneficial. I tend to think it would help, but in a minimal way so if you can afford it then why not. Many top builders say they wouldn't waste their time for only a few extra ponies. There are other shops lke Yaw power I believe that swear by it though.

As quoted from Pineapple Racing:
"Flowbenches are great tools, particularly for piston engine work. However, their usefulness in porting rotary engines is virtually nonexistant. First, there is no easy way to simulate the operational characteristics of rotary engine ports. Simply strapping a side housing to a flow bench and measuring static flow rates is a futile excercise. One would have to build a very special apperatus to replicate the dynamics of port flow and the related turbulance of the intake charge. And, the extremely limited performance benefits make it hard to justify the expense. 2-3 hp for $200-300 in additional labor is not very cost effective. We recommend that you invest that money more wisely."

There are so many debates about everything performance oriented. I am not sure how much flow testing rotary housings will benefit but i am sure it wouldn't hurt. With Headway performance, i am not sure if the price is built in but i did not pay extra for it. I believe he flow tests all pieces he ports. Although he does do mostly piston engine heads, when i met him at sema, his hatch was full of rotor housing given to him by customers to be ported.

The intake manifold is much more important to flow test. The 20B does not give an even amount of air flow to all 3 rotors. That is why i am having a custom built from scratch upper and lower in one piece. Hopefully it will be done in 2-3 weeks.

Have you ever seen the intake manifold on Abel Ibarras current car?
