I've seen Abels in person on several occasions. A work of art that thing was. I'm going to be going with a sheetmetal mani myself as I think the stock one leaves somethng to be desired. Where are you having your's made at? I plan on having Hogan's fab mine up by the end of the year...not cheap but doesn't sound like your to concerned about that
Finally someone to show up Jimlabs never-ending-ego-project with a three rotor of all things. Hell yeah. Just try not to drag it out for 5 years

Headway is behind the design of the intake but it is being built somewhere in CA.
From what i am told, it is the same builder who Abel contracted.
I plan on having it running before the end of summer to get all the bugs worked out and then finish up all the details and interior over the winter.
It will be done by spring 05 for sure!
I actually have the stock 20B intake for sale which was cut down, 2-fuel rails built and the plenum was gutted to fit a single 90mm throttle body.

Speaking of which, I'm going to try test fitting my engine (20B) in my great little car again. I've only been working on it for 1 year.

Hey Auto Illusions, thanks for the PM. I'll let you know how the manifold mod goes if everything looks like it'll fit the way I planned it. Gotta get the engine in there first of course.
I gotta show you my custom intake when I'm done with fabbing it up, the stock intake manifold is fine though for 99% of the people out there, there are cars running in the 8's down in OZ on the stock intakes. The route I'm going with our car isn't too far off yours, I just don't have the time to post up all the pics and what not, but I will when it's done.
Good luck with all of it.
Good luck with all of it.

Soloracer,
i had a microtech LTX12 but i am currently selling it as i ordered a full Motec system. It has built in traction control and gear selectable boost control which i was originally planning on running all with seperate components. I already sold my racelogic traction control and apexi boost controller.

The intake has been started although i was planning on having the stock one extrude honed.
pics are always appriciated.

great start so far, my question would be why run 19s and limit your options of decent tires? There are some very exciting things happening now with tires, i wouldn't run toyo proxy on my car and i have like 25% the power you're expecting.
The car is mainly for show. I might get another set of 17 or 18 inch rims with some real sticky rubber for the occasional track time and deffinately a set of slicks for the strip.
You are right though, there is a really narrow selection of soft compound street tires available in 19". I chose the Toyo because they were the grippiest tires i could find in that size that have a matching set for front and rear sizes.
I fell in love with the set of GFG wheels that i got for the car and they only make them in 19". That is the real reason.

Well it is coming. I ordered an Innovative turbo larger than the GT80R i was previously planning on running. Now i am looking for some inconnel to build a new header, any one having any info on where i can find some 2 1/4" u-bends, please let me know.
I am going with a turbo similar to the Y2k but with a more efficient turbine and an 88mm compressor wheel.
I was told that the GT80R would not support my 1000hp goals so they are out of the projects inventory for the build.
The custom built turbo manifold and other parts are going into another FD so time spent building the turbo kit was not wasted! (Just Money!)
Also getting scrapped from the project are the throttle body and modified stock intake which are getting replace with a total custom built intake manifold, 9 injectors and 100mm throttle body!
I will get some pics together as soon as i can.

New toys for the shop
Check out our new toy for the shop. This baby mounts 26" rims like nothing. Completly robotic, mount the tire using joy sticks and never touches the rim except though the lug holes and the hub!
Perfect for high end wheels with out the chance of damage!

Cant mount without a good balance!

Notice the first wheel on the machine!
Yep, 19 x 10 GFG with 275/30 for the rx7 project.
Took 1/4 oz on inside and 1/2 oz in the middle for a perfect dynamic balance!

We built it here at my shop. The check valves actually fill up the center chamber the more the fuel rocks back and forth. fuel will enter the center chamber from the sides but can not leave!
what parts are you running in your driveline.
Im getting geared up to start the turbo set up on my NA 20b. Im kinda limited by the stock driveline parts to, what 600 rwhp? Well thats the goal +600 down. 1000 sounds rediculous. I dont even know if my tripple plate will handle that. I know the tranny and rear wont.

I am going to run a tremec from liberty trans, stock rear end until it gives, browell bell housing and a tripple disc clutch which is still undecided. (Maybe the unorthodox set)
Car will be mostly run on the street with a lot less power running at lower boost levels so i hope not to have any drivetrain failure.
The occasional trip to the strip will be the worst forces put on the car. I just hope i can have some self control and launch it easy.

I have RP 300m chromoly axes, heat treated cv's and a kazz locking diff!
If the rearend does not hold up, i will probably end up going with the ford rear end setup that jimlab is producing. (i would like to keep independent rear susp.)
