Wanna bet? We seen a guy come out to one of our first meets here in the GTA, and he had an 84 with original tires and battery and heat shields still on the car (had about 54,000) and the rims didn't have an ounce of oxidation on them like the one's in the pic. I actually have pictures of said car at home. I should post them...

I think that monstrosity under the dash controls that horn thing on the passenger side in the engine bay.
I think you're right. That looks like it could be a control box for a multi-tune horn (with the odo-looking thing to control which tune). Why in the heck would anybody put that thing on the car immediately after they bought it?

I just changed the 20 yr old battery in the 83 that I bought new 20 years ago. It had been both used and stored (3 yrs) in that time. I sneer at any battery that lasts less than 10 years, and that's why I buy the cheapest Kragen (turns out to be Exide) I can buy. My battery buddy engineer tells me the only diff between the 36mo battery for $30 and the 84 mo battery for $60 is the warranty - same battery.

My 83 looks that good and it's not repainted, just always covered.

The Manntis we all know and love had the original battery in his -SE when he bought it. HIS car was/is perfect.

Look how CLEAN everything is in there. Also, note the ORIGINAL battery.

Wow interesting thread here..... not sure what to make of it either way... it does seem rather dodgy.... and the fact that someone earlier said he tampered with the mileage etc... I dunno, it doesn't look %100 fantastic to me, so I'd say it's dodgy. I wouldn't buy things from Ebay or whatever anyway. hehe.

It's obviously been looked after to an extent, but I don't think it's the best, and I wouldn't take everything that is says there as true.

First of all.....that rex is REALLY REALLY amazing for a 20 yeal old car!!

The interior os almost orgazmic!

BUT

second....

Im not even buying the fact that it only did 880 miles :s. Maybe it did but then it has been sitting out in the rain for really long.... Like someone already mentioned there is rust on the struts and it looks like they tryed to clean it up.....

This car looks like a crew of 5 people scrubbed it for a day....

Its really nice no doubt about it but there is definitly something fishy about this.

bah, wehn i bought my 79 it had tires from 1980 on it. the only reason it had those was because his friend won them and they didn't fit any of his cars. so he just gave them to him.

that is sad to see someone let a good car like that sit there, bunch of faulkers. and what the faulk is a four barrel engine?
