I have never worked with fiberglass before but I want to learn. I have been reading on the internet though. In post 36, how did you get the carpet to seal so well with the wood and other fiberglass parts. Did you just seal it with the resin? I have seen before where people staple fleece to the wood but it doesn't look like you did that? how do you make sure the fiberglass has a good enough bond with the wood?

Sorry if I sound like an idiot but I would like some advice from someone who obviously knows what they are doing.
I'm using 8 awg power wire for the speaker wire.

I put an 1/4 rabbitt on the wood so that the fleece or carpet would sit below the wood line. This allows you to add you layers of fiberglass and have a nice smooth line between the wood and glass. Where the fiberglass and fleece bond together I used 3m adhesive on the side and pulled it tight, once that was tight I used CA glue to bond the carpet to the glass. This will allow a very nice seem along the side.

Heres a nice site to get some more knowledge on glassing: http://fiberglassforums.com/

Quote from stereo speaker salesman in the movie "Ruthless People": "... and when you die, they can bury you in it!!"

Beatuiful work. Glad you're not my neighbor's kid, though. Heheheh.

You should cut the RX-7 part out.

Why? So it'll "Glow"

very nice, does this make your 1st gen slower? lol

Very Nice John. I like that it takes less space too. Looks somewhat "removable" too. Great Skills to have.

not trying to sound bitter but y would you put 3 subs in an rx-7. these are sports/race cars. genuine actually. y put more weight in there and not use it to its full potential. buy a nice looking cavalier or cobalt n weigh it down. use your rx-7 like its meant to be used. lol

No need to sound bitter. They are labelled sports cars, not race cars. So my handling is doing just fine around the corners. With all the mods I have for the rest of the car it by far makes up for the added weight. With my big *** in the car, its just a mute point anyways. Thanks for your input.

A sizeable jock out of Boston
liked to tool 'round the town in an Austin
there was room for his ***
and a gallon of gas,
but his ballocks hung out... so he lost 'em!

I don't get the need for 3 subs in a seven, nice audio n such in a seven is great but doesn't the 3 subs hurt your ears?

I had two 12's in my FC I wasnt even inside of it just my head alittle, andmy ears were hurting I couldn't imagin the original sub you posted or the 3 subs

the cool thing about our cars is that you don't have to turn up the volume to "ear-bleeding" mode for it to sound great, i only had one 12 and i never had any problem inside with very low volume the 4 car speakers kept the treble enough so that you could hear the voices and the way my box was it kept the bass pounding great you could have it hurt your ears if you turned it all the way up, but why would you wanna do that? lol

A quick update:

I moved my capacitor from next to my battery in the rear storage compartment next to the amps in the back.

It looks like the new e5.10's will be coming out soon.

Been doing some nice drivin as of late. We had a few meets up in the central New York area around Westpoint that has some awesome roads. She still handles like a beast, I'm very happy I did all the performance updates prior to this. Next weekend we have a meet at Orange County Choppers that ensures some real nice back roads.
