I know a little slow on the updates. I sanded and repainted the rear trim and fiberglassesd the bottom part of the enclosure 6 layers and a little resin cabosil mix ontop. The subs will be 3 DVC 2 ohm subs, so I'm wiring them in series/ parrelel to get a 3 ohm load. If I invert the center sub I just need to wire it out of phase, correct?

Looks great. As far as your request for suggestions on where to put the port, I don't know if you have a deep enough enclosure to do it, but if you do I would recommend at the right angle coming out of the top pointed at the rear window. That way if you angle it just right it will reflect off the rear glass and into the front of the car. It's not a huge difference but sometimes every little bit helps.

I do have a question for you. Why did you make the port out of press board instead of fiberglass? Wouldn't you get a more effective port if you made it out of fiberglass? I could be wrong on this, but was just curious.

A new wiring diagram:

I will be inverting the center sub so that I will not have to build the baffle so far out. It will also give it a cool wow factor. Thanks to scuzzy on the fiberglass forum for the help on the wiring!

I did a little work on the floor peice. It will have an insert of the Elemental Designs logo.

I will probably be doing the same finish as the amp rack and sub box. i thought about carpeting it, but I think it would look out of place.

Well, it's been slow going. I'm waiting for a ring from ED to the specs of the new subs. Once I get that I'm making a new baffel board and fiberglassing the upper part of the enclosure. It should be in some time this week.

Here are some updates:
Cleaned up all the wiring:

Attached a quick disconnect for the 8 gauge speaker wire:

Glued and nailed in the port:

Yes there will be blue LED's form Oznium in the port. (recessed so there is no turbulance)

I also painted all the inerrior hatch peices with SEM paint to match the enclosure and amp rack.

Random pick of the shop:

Here are some more updates.

I made my new baffle board o the new ED subs specs as they are a little bigger then the old subs. As you can see I epoxyed the T-nuts in!

To make sure I had the mounting depth correct I made a mock up sub!

Pics of the board in it's new home:

Center sub inverted for visual purposes:

Sub mounting depth:

Fleecing and hopefully some fiberglass tomorrow.

Well got alot done today. I thought I had some fleece laying around, but oh no I forgot to check. I had some non backed highly stretchable carpet, so carpet it was.

A couple of wrinkels, but no biggy.

I forgot how much resin this stuff soaks up!

I'm gonna have fun sanding around this port:

Looks like rain for the weekend, so I'm not sure how much else I will get done.

Here are the pics after sanding down the layer of resin and carpet:

I think it turned out real nice.

3 layers of fiberglass on the back and sides:

Tomorrow: Trim up the edges, 3 layers on the front and another all the way around. If I get enough time I will do another complete layer inside of resin and cabosil. At that point she should nice and rock hard.

Installed in her new home. My wife came home and said she liked what I wrapped the box in, so I guess the textured looked good.

I used SEM Classic Coat to match the interior color.

Looks Nice,

But the port looks a bit to close to the back wall.

Here are the final pics:

Hades, yeah it looks close to the back, but it's 2" away the, same height as the internal height of the port itself.

Your insane Looks very clean I like it. Do you still have carpeting around the bin area or did you do something with that as well? When do the subs come?

While I am not into huge sound systems like this (prefer hidden ones) that is really damn nice work. It looks really good all put together like that. Perfect choice on textured paint there.

Looks great!

I have to agree with dream garage. This is by far the best looking set up I have seen in a 7. So what size speaker wire are you going to run between the speakers?

I have never worked with fiberglass before but I want to learn. I have been reading on the internet though. In post 36, how did you get the carpet to seal so well with the wood and other fiberglass parts. Did you just seal it with the resin? I have seen before where people staple fleece to the wood but it doesn't look like you did that? how do you make sure the fiberglass has a good enough bond with the wood?

Sorry if I sound like an idiot but I would like some advice from someone who obviously knows what they are doing.
