FL Wierd crack/leak on top oil cooler bung. With pic

about 2 months ago i noticed a leak coming from one of my oil cooler bungs and thought it was coming from one of the threads. So i did what any amateur mechanic would do and put jb weld on it to stop the leak. that lasted for about 20min. untill i decided to take the whole oil cooler apart. while i chipped the jb weld off and undid the oil lines i checked everything and put it back together. check the car and NO MORE LEAK. So while i thought it was just the oil line that had to be tightened everything was fine untill today.

Today i opened the hood and noticed the same slow leak like last time. so i wiped down the bungs and start the car. I notice that the leak is forming from the top middle part of the bung!!!! seams there is a hairline crack about 1cm on the top.

What i think happened the last time is that i actually filled that crack with wb weld the last time. Heres a pic of what im talking about. What are my options? Fill it everytime it leaks? any cheap solution out there?

they all do that. the fix is cheap, and simple, but its messy. pull the cooler and have the crack welded...

Take it to a welding shop. You need someone who can TIG weld aluminum. Any halfway decent welding shop will be able to do that.

yeah like that. i've also seen people run a bead around the bottom of the fitting in the cooler, which should make it a little stronger.

it breaks because either the fitting was overtightened, or it can't hold the weight of the hose for 25 years, or it got bounced off a curb...

it breaks coz they didnt use 2 wrenches. one to hold the fitting in cooler..second one to tighten the hose end; otherwise, both fitting and hose end fitting will turn the case cracks. I call it "careless."
