Who else has RB header that vibrates against the chassis?
I have a serious vibration problem at certain RPMs (low) where my exhaust apparently is vibrating against my floor pan. Is this usual? Is there something I can do to correct this? I thought about shaving the engine mounts, but this seems extreme.
Must be someone else that has had this problem, right?

C'mon, sterling!! Everybody else has already pulled out the Godzilla screwdriver and bent the exhaust away from the chassis!! Maybe you're getting the heat shields resonating that's creating the ruckus...

Is that really what they do?- Just bend the crap outta it?
I asked this question on Mazspeed, and someone said they got instructions with their RB set that said that they might have to rotate the engine. They were suggesting that there is lea-way to shift the engine. Is this true?
I know I] did'nt get no freakin instructions like that!

There are mini slots in the brackets where the rubber donuts sit on the engine plate. Loosen both sides of the engine mount and then put a wood block on the side of the oil pan rail that you want to apply pressure to with a jack stand to create the necessary clearance...or pull out the giant crow bar and have at it!!

i'm holding the second seance for this thread ...
can the vibration be caused by not having the exhaust hung in the middle? actually i'm fairly sure that my header doesn't touch, but i think the center section may be touching. i'm not sure.
i installed my streetport exhaust a few months ago, and i've been putting up with the harsh vibrations since day one because i simply did not have the time to tend to it. i'm going to have some time in about a week. i'm thinking of just taking it to an exhaust shop and having them attach some mounting point to the middle section. might this stop the vibrations, too?

I say, DO A SEARCH j/k. Are you sure its the header? vibration is usually cause by the heat shields either on the firewall where it slopes down to the header flange or in the driveshaft. problems are usually caused by aging engine/tranny mounts.

since they mentioned "Sorry to pull back such an old dead thread" and "i'm holding the second seance for this thread", then yeah but other people might find informative discussions about the problem helpful, even if Sterling has long since corrected the problem on his own

yes ... the thread is very old ... almost 3 years, to be exact. however, i'm doing what i tell so many other people that post the-"Will a 13B Turbo fit in my SA/FB"-question. i searched!
and as Manntis correctly pointed out, it may help someone even though Sterling no longer has the issue. for example, 2000+ posts and i still have a very basic question ... is my vibration likely to be coming from the center section not having hangers and mounts attached? see? and i'm not afraid to admit that i have a basic question, either, but rather than post a new thread, i opted to search for an existing one. is that okay?
