where does the bov connect to?
hi just wondering where exactly the bov connects to?
dya have to weld it in?
or fairly easy to install..
oh and 1 more.. (sorry its not about the subject) but does anyone have a pic or diagram where the speedo cable connects to the gauge cluster?
and in order for it to come off entirely.. is it just the speedo cable that needs to be detached? or are there other cables?
anyone got a complete write up or diagram.. rotaryrx7.com doesnt really explain it
sorry
and thanx heaps guy

unless you're using a turbo-to-throttle body pipe that has provisions for it, yes, BOV's have to welded on. actually, the little cup that they sit in (not sure what else to call it
) has to be welded in. the BOV itself will probably have a ring that holds it in the "cup-part".
on the speedo cable, it's been a while, but if i remember correctly, then it's just the one cable that leads from the tranny to the gauge cluster - no others have to be removed. however, the gauge side is a pain in the tush!
hope this helps ...

the gauge cluster has three connections to it. There are 2 round bundles of wire that connect to it and on the left (looking at the back of the cluster) is the speedo connection. It's easy to get out, just a little plastic clip holds it into the gauge cluster. Personally, i have more problems getting the wire bundles back into the cluster with it in place (stupid way of keying the connector) than i do getting the speedo cable off.
oh goddamn you and your wrong side drive car
... now i cant help because i dont know if the sides are still the same.

If I seem to be taking the **** out of you it's because I'm desperately trying to point you in the right direction. Monster tacho's with auto gearboxes and fake BOV's simply don't belong on an Rx-7... or any other car for that matter.

this is just for show?i originally thought you were someone planning a turbo project, but after watching this drama unfold ... i'm gonna have to second what Revhed said ...
there are several ways to be different that will compromise the integrity of neither your Rx-7's nor your reputations ... if you're honestly looking for ideas feel free to ask (you can even PM me if you wish - i may not answer quickly all the time, but as long as i log in to the board i WILL respond) - just don't travel the wrong path. i's hard to find your back ...

C'mon, don't install a BOV until the turbo goes in....
First of all, it will do absolutely nothing; no sound, no performance, because there is no positive pressure to bleed off. Secondly, It will make you look like a fool. Last but not least, where do you think you could install one.... you've got a 12A. The carb bonnet would be the only possible place, and when you do go turbo, you're garenteed to throw the bonnet in the trash.

dude ~ just do yourself a favor. try to set a realistic power/performance goal, then do a search for ideas.
