This has most definitely been asked here but I’m having a hard time finding what I need online. My search results are coming back with ATV wheels lol.
So where can I go online to buy a wheel and tire setup? ‘82 S2 with the 4x110 bolt pattern for reference. I’ve combed through the threads and found that some folks have had luck with 15x7 +20mm wheels, lock to lock without rolling the fenders.
Ride height is stock and likely will remain so for at least a year or two, but I’d like to changes the shoes to something a bit more contemporary.
BBS would be cool, but where? Are supply chain shortages to blame? Am I missing something?
attached is about the only wheel I’ve been able to find and, while it’s okay, doesn’t really do it for me.
15x7 w/20 offset is the go-to size for our cars. The problem is that there just aren't many wheels offered in 4x110 bolt pattern.
The Konig Rewinds and Panasports are always available but you don't like the look. Enkei used to make the 92 (mesh style) in 4x110 but I think they're getting scarce. ROTA also makes various wheels in 4x110. The US supplier I've bought them through is 18racing dot com. I like the ROTA Shakotan style, but it's also "old school"...
Like I said, not many companies make 4x110 rims. So most of what you find will be vintage race style, or '80's Japanese street scene style.
You could also look for adapters to change to a different bolt pattern that would have more options. 4x100 is the Miata wheel pattern and there a lot more options available in that pattern, or go 4x114.3 like the GSL-SE. Just be sure to account for the width of the adapter and factor it into the wheel offset.
I have "always" had a specific look in my mind of what my 1985 RX7 should look like and I think I'm finally there. As most who have 84-85 GSL-SE's, looking for "the" aftermarket wheel for a car that had a 4 x 114.3 lug pattern and a +40 offset has been akin to looking for a Unicorn. I rolled on stock GSL-SE rims for about 10 years and just needed a different look. I got a set cheap set of 5 spoke rims for a few years that were “OK” but not what I was looking for. The past 6 years I've been running an 8 spoke black painted rim with machined edges that looked better than the 5 spoke, but not what I was looking for long term. So, after almost 18 years of "web-surfing" I finally found the wheel with the "look," and the "fitment," I was looking for. I found a set of 15" x 7" Rota RB wheels in Royal Silver with Polished Lip with the 4 x 114.3 lug pattern, and a +30mm offset. It’s always been important to me to have a tire/wheel combination tuck just inside the wheel well lip, but not extend pass the edge. The combination of the 15" x 7" wheel with the +30mm offset along with a set of 205/50r15 tire hit the “sweet spot.” One hiccup though (and if you own an RX-7 you knew this was coming didn’t you) the center bore is 73mm, but knowing I could get the appropriate hub ring I ordered them. When I placed my order, I selected the small center cap option, they contacted me and said the only center cap available for this wheel was the tall Ford cap (think old Ford Couriers and Datsun pick-ups with large spindles) and did I want to cancel my order? I did a quick Google search and found hundreds of center caps with 73mm inner diameters so I said no process the order. I got the tires mounted on my new wheels and put them on my car and with the tall Ford cap it’s just so large in relationship to the rim and spokes it just ruins the look of the wheel to me. I ordered some aftermarket center caps with a 73mm inner diameter clipped them in only to have them spin around. After trying several different caps, I measured the inner diameter of the front wheel face and found that it’s 74mm as opposed to the back face of the rim which is 73mm. In addition to that the tabs on the OEM caps are shorter than almost all the aftermarket caps and would never fit flush even if the diameter was right. I’m not happy at this point but was not willing to give up after purchasing new wheels and tires, and I was determined to find a fix for this problem. I found a guy a couple of miles from me who does 3D printing and explained my situation, and was wondering if he could help me out. Turns out he printed a set of center caps for some Enkei RPF1 rims he bought for his Gulf R32 a few years ago. He came by and took some measurements, I told him what I would like, and he came back with a cap that fits like a glove and gives me the look I was after. He charged me $100.00 for the design work and $16.00 a-piece for the center caps and made me one “happy-camper” in the process. It’s been a 28-year journey with my RX-7, but it’s been one of the most gratifying experiences of my life! Tall OEM Caps #D Center cap Way Better option Works for me!

Rota has ALOT of wheels that fit our car's . The issue is vendors want 1,000+ for them. They have knock off. 15' waffles with a nice lip.. For 1200$.. MSRP was 155$ each lol..
