Whats your gas mileage??

i was wondering what everyone else is getting. Ive heard of some people getting just over 20mpg but my fb is no where near that. On average ill get 13-14 mpg and that just driving normally. I know that by no means is any rotary car good on gas but this just seems a little too low. so whats everyone elses consumption like?

i hate both of you hah. I guess I should have put mods. I have sp 12a with sterling nikki carb, probably a bit on the rich side, holley red fuel pump and fpr, and a full rb sp exhaust header to muffler. I want to update the ignition set up and do a full tune up in coming weeks. hopefully that will help

What year car as well as trim model, Different year and rear ends have diff gear ratios. my 83 gs will get better gas mileage than the 84 gsl-se that has the same motor just cuz of the tranny/rear end gearing the -se has 4.11 while the gs has 3.8-9.

Sterling nikki huh so u have mech secondaries. If u train urself to not kick the secondaries in ull increase gas mileage alot.

If cruise in the 3500 to 4000 rpm (75-80mph) range I get around 23-24mpg with the
mods in my signature. Around town I get about 17 depending on how heavy my foot is on

Wow!, Thats pretty good for a Dellorto setup.

On my 4 port with a Mikuni, (see mods below) I initially got about 13-14, Then... when I was trying to learn about the vacuum advance system that came on our cars I did an experiment and hooked mine back up. (I had disconnected like everybody says to with the sidedraft carbs). Anyway, after I hooked it back up I readjusted the timing. I advanced it with the knowledge that the vacuum would go away and it would retard at full throttle when detonation would be possible.

Well I was very surprised when the milage jumped to 17-18, still not in the twenties, but I'm still working on it and have since switched to twin webber 36 dcds, I hope to improve it further.

i probably get around 14 with mine. got it running really rich at idle to help with the transition problem i can't seem to get rid of. once i get some extra money to put tires on my other car i'll quit driving the 7 for a while and start the swap to either an edelbrock i got to see how that works out or gather the other needed parts and install this holley projection setup that's been sitting in a closet for yrs.

Last time I drove on the street, tooling around a few times ~50 degree rainy weather, I went about 25 miles on three gallons of fuel.

Open road in the summer, maybe 20mpg with this half-bridge. My TII half-bridge block (N/A) would do 23-24mpg, just like when it was a street port.

I'm the guy who could do over 30mpg with a stockport 12A. Record was 33mpg. Perverse thing is that it was with 4.78 gears and 205/60-13 tires... according to the odo I was doing over 40mpg

I don't drive my car on the street very much, but when I drove to mid ohio fom my house (about an hour drive one way) I got about 12 mpg. The worst MPG I ever got was running a Pro Solo at Toledo Airport it was all high rpm second gear and third gear over a 40 second course. 4 MPG!! mods are in my sig

I run my 85 GS with a bone stock 12A on 89 oct fuel and get on average:

23 best on a 3hr, 4000rpm, 80mph consistent trip
20.5 highway
19 overall average
17-18 city

I also do not premix oil, have no mods on anything...yet...and just passed 80,000mi on the timer. Would love to get better mileage, but wouldn't we all.
