Whats the widest 16 or 17 in...

Tire you can put on your 7?

I been thinking to go 16,But I dont like to low profile of a sidewall. I had 215/45/16 before I bougth for my FB then never used them.

I talked to my wheel specialist the other day he said I can go up to 225/40/17

I was in a rush to get infoI hope he didnt give me that info for a FC...

So on a 7 in wide wheel, whats the widest tire you guys have seen WITHOUT rubbing,Since my car is apart,I willbe rolling the fenders soon,

Show me some pics of lowered 7s with 16 or 17 n wheels, and do you tink 7.5 wide will fit?

I had a 225 45 16 and it rubbed slightly. My car is quite low though. I now have 225 40 16 Yokohama A520's and there is no probs.

i ran 225/45/16 in the rear and it rubs on the rear passenger side. So i m moving the 215/40/16 in the front that i have already to the rear and putting 205/40/16 in the front. But 215 were fine in the front. 225/40/16 will work u just might have to pull the fenders.

Did you roll the inner fender lip, though? I rubbed with 225/50/15sin back on all the RX-7s I've had so far and each time a little banging in the area solved the problem....

So it looks like 215/40 or 215 /45 would be safe..

I have 16x7.5 momo wheels and I run 205-40-16 front and 225-40-16 rear without any rubbing at all (including extreme driving) and I have NOT rolled the inner fender lips

With the 7.5" wide wheel, it comes really close to touching the bottom spring coil in the front. But all said and done it works perfectly without touching

I wouldn't suggest a 7.5" wide wheel in the front unless you run a 215 or higher width, because with a 205 the tire is somewhat stretched to the width of the rim, it's very minor, but noticable on close inspection

what do you want pics of?

Of a 7 lowered..about 1 in or so with 215/or 225..either 16 or 17 in ..

Just to see how it looks "tucked" and wonder if it will rub,..
