Widest tire on stock 16x8 wheel????

What is the widest tire I can put on a stock 3rd gen wheel without rubbing? Diameter isn't an issue. Any input would help. thanks

Many people run 245/45-16 and I have also seen some 255/50-16s. You can run wider drag slicks, too, if that is what you are looking for.

Yes, same size at all four corners. This is a very common replacement size for people with stock or modified suspensions on stock wheels. I wonder what percentage of stock wheels in existance today have 245/45-16 tires on them? 50%

So there are no problems running 245/45 16's on stock rims with say the Eibach Pro-Kit springs? How do people like the Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions?

I have a Tanabe coilover setup (my fd sits very low) and have no fitment probs with 245/45s. I have the s02's and love them. I would assume the s03's are even better.

Thanks for the info! Anyone know how to do the math to figure out how the speedo will be off due to the change in tire size?

225/50s: 225mm x .5 = 112.5 mm sidewall
245/45s: 245mm x .45 = 110.25 sidewall

difference of 2.25mm is negligible. Speedo should stay the same--I've been running the 245/45s for years now and gearing seems to be the same, ie. 5th gear is still 3000 rpms at 80 mph etc.
